I've only been playing for a 5 days now (got it day one). So far, it's an amazing improvement/continuation of previous entries in the series, specifically Flight Simulator X. It looks beautiful, sounds great. Feels amazing to control (the physics). Is pretty easy to set up. Honestly it's just good fun.

Some new things, are special landing challenges, which take anywhere from 2-8 minutes, and have varying conditions, plane types, weather, etc - as well as bush trips, which I haven't tried yet as they range from 7 to 9 hours... There also appear to be bi-weekly challenges, though obviously with how new this is, there's only been one so far.

Now, for the issues I have with the sim. And I want to be clear, I'm not saying these features won't be added, they're still working closely with the community via forums, and I'm sure with time some of these things will be available.
No player controlled ATC. I've seen many videos of people playing FSX Steam Edition, and having a ton of fun (usually because of how silly the game can be) when one of the players took control of the tower of an airport (or multiple, which usually leads to chaos). But right now, the only ATC available is through the AI.
For that matter, it seems that all you can really do in terms of "multiplayer" is have other people flying around in your sim. Which is fine, and in fact is really cool, but you can also invite friends to a group, but there doesn't seem to be a way to chat with them in game. To be fair, this just may not be something most people want, but it's something I noticed.
ATC was actually a big reason I got this game, because I never got to experience FSX Steam Edition and it's multiplayer.
I feel like there was another feature I missed, but can't remember right now.

Issues:
The hit/collision detection seems pretty good, as it should be, but I've noticed, specifically with what I think are some of the hand modeled landmarks, their collision can be anywhere. Sometimes I can expertly fly a stunt plane through the spires and roof of a landmark. Other times, I fly somewhere that is clearly open air, but suddenly my plane crashes into it?
Achievements don't seem to always work. Maybe I'm just bad, or don't understand what's being asked, but a good example is an achievement for landing on a runway with winds at speeds of 15 or more knots, without "assistance". Ignoring the fact that the game never really explains what that means, I landed at several runways where I had set the wind to ~16 or more knots, and the achievement never unlocked. Yet, while doing a landing challenge that just so happened to have said wind conditions, it unlocked. It can be extremely frustrating to work for an achievement, especially if said achievement may take an hour or more, only for it to not unlock. And like I said, maybe I'm just not understanding the instructions, but in that case, the problem then becomes: the achievements aren't explained well enough.

If you enjoy flight sims. Get this.
If you aren't sure, but you had fun in previous flight sims, this is still probably for you.
If you aren't sure whether or not this kind of product is for you to begin with, I understand as it is a pretty niche thing. If watching other people play it doesn't help, try "acquiring" an older flight sim, or if there are any free ones that have good reputations, then check them out I suppose.
If you have played previous flight sims and they didn't quite convince you, then I'm not sure this one will, but maybe the more competitive or "gamey" aspects of the sim like the challenges might add something for you to enjoy.

Better gameplay, better weapons, better level design, better music, great story, more fan service (easter eggs/references/etc).
Not only is this game better than DOOM 2016, but this may very well be one of the best shooters of all time, no joke. So many times while playing, I've had just the dumbest smile on my face, and I'm already close to 100%ing the campaign after less than a day of playing.

Hollow Knight is a visually distinct Metroid-Vania, that looks, sounds, and feels amazing.
I really haven't played many Metroid-Vanias since... well, Super Metroid, so it took me a little to ease into a more modern game, but I got a hold of it.
I've played this game for around 5 hours, yet I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface of what this game has to offer.
In my opinion, this game can be quite challenging at times, but so far I've overcome each challenge I faced, so you definitely get better each time you fail at something.

While the game is somewhat minimalist with its art style, I think it serves the game and the story really well, and is very pleasing to look at.

Definitely worth checking out, on sale or not!

Shovel Knight is an action packed retro themed platformer, with tons of callbacks and homages to classic games from the 8 and 16 bit era.
Currently there are 3 campaigns with a fourth coming free (at the time of writing).
The original Shovel Knight story, with the classic moves and gameplay.
Plague Knight's story, which requires a bit more strategy, and careful gameplay.
And Spectre Knight, who controls much like ninja gaiden, and is more fast paced and quick-response oriented.

Levels are selected from an overworld map, but the structure is very similar to Mega Man, where you take on 8 bosses, with each stage (possibly) giving you a new ability to use, and then final boss stages. Plague Knight does not receive upgrades on a per stage basis like Shovel Knight, but it is still similar, and this also goes for Spectre Knight.

The story isn't super original, but it's pleasant, and serves it's purpose well enough. Most likely nothing you haven't seen before, but I still won't spoil it. Also has controller support, which I recommend for a game like this. Maybe keyboard works fine, but I've always played this game with a controller and just can't play it with a keyboard at the same level I normally play.

The game has an amazing soundtrack, as well as beautiful and vibrant pixel graphics. And while it does look retro, the devs don't use that as an excuse to make sub-par graphics, but instead make graphics that look similar to the old video games of the 80's, but are actually technically impossible on those old systems. Things like, way more colors, multiple levels of parallax scrolling, etc. (And it's widescreen.)

The game delivers on all fronts, and is well worth the asking price, especially if its on sale.

First of all, this game looks sub-par. Sonic himself looks terrible, at least in terms of the shading, the special stages look like they are running in GameMaker Studio, and everything else just looks average quality. Maybe in 2012 it was a bit better, but on a high end machine, running at 1080p, it looks pretty bad overall.

Gameplay: the first good thing I can say, is that the controller support actually works, unlike Sonic Generations. But the gameplay itself is nothing special, it pretty much is Sonic Generations, except worse. My biggest complaint with the physics, is that if you stop holding the d-pad (or joystick) while moving in mid-air, you just *stop* moving in the direction you were going. And it doesn't make the game easier, it makes it a tad harder.
However! The game is way too easy. Sonic 3 is the only classic sonic game I have been able to beat, and that was due to the save files, so when I say this game is easy, then you know I mean it. The special stages seemed pretty easy too, though I had trouble getting into them. Getting 50 rings was easy, but jumping in the big ring at the end of the stage was a little difficult due to the weird mid-air physics, and how it gives you a very small amount of time before forcing sonic right and ending the level.

And just to continue the bashing of the game, the levels are all recycled for the most part.

It's not a terrible game, it's playable, but I did not enjoy it, and I do not plan to play it again, save for maybe a YouTube video.

Just get Sonic Mania if you want a 2d sonic game.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I never thought I would see the day that a good Sonic game came out. But before you go praising SEGA, they didn't even make it lol.
This game was created (at least mainly) by Christian Whitehead, who from what I understand started out as a ROM hacker of the classic Sonic games, and he then made a special engine he called the Retro Engine, for IOS. He demonstrated this engine to SEGA, and they actually released it on the store, and eventually the Google Play store. Thus giving us the cool IOS and Android ports of Sonic 1, 2, 3, and CD (I think all 4 of them). That engine was also used in the creation of this game, so in other words, this game has the authentic feel of a classic Sonic game. It's like if Sonic 1, 2, 3, and CD all had a big orgi, and this game came out as a result. It's super fun. It's not ground breaking by any means, but it's just nice to have a new GOOD Sonic game.

Buy it! If you still need more proof:

I'm sure the store page videos show it all, but this game is exactly what it looks like. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soccer with cars. I'm not even joking.

It might sound stupid, and that's because it is, but it's also fun. The controls might take a few rounds to get used to, and the game isn't easy in my opinion (at least not at first), but it's still well worth the time and money, and I think it's a game anyone can enjoy, regardless of whether or not they actually care for sports and sporting in the first place.

This is a very interesting game, off the top of my head I'm not sure what genre it is considered, but essentially you start each run in a ship (of your choosing, though only one is unlocked at the beginning), with (iirc) 3 crew members. The gameplay consists of assigning the crew members their jobs, maintaining your ship, salvaging wrecks, buying upgrades from shops littered throughout the galaxy to upgrade, and all with the goal to eventually outrun the people chasing you. (I forget their name). This game though, is technically linear; while you can choose your path at all times, you must keep progressing through each sector of the galaxy or risk being destroyed by a great fleet of ships constantly chasing you.

It's honestly kind of hard to explain this game without showing so I would recommend watching some YouTube videos on it.

I can't believe it took me this many years to finally play this game. I've been missing out on this amazing Bethesda RPG series. I can't tell you much about your character without spoiling the story a little, especially since right off the bat, you are creating your character.

The gameplay is that of an open world RPG. I haven't actually played many other games like this, so I don't have much to compare it to, but the vastness of the world is grand. The amount of places, things, and people are mind blowing to me. You travel the wasteland, either completing mainline quests to further the story, or side quests to get items, exp, etc. The story (to me at least) was very good, and I was emotionally attached the whole time, and I'm man enough to admit I had tears in my eyes a few times. However the story's outcome largely depends on your choices in the game, you can shape this world how you see fit. Not to spoil too much, but there are essentially different factions in the game, and choosing who you want to stick with and who you don't agree with will change the story, and how you interact with NPC's.

The graphics are great, especially with the HD textures, though I've seen this game lag on even the most high end PC's, so I believe there may be some bad optimization in some areas, but it shouldn't detract from your overall experience.

Overall I thought this was an amazing game, with tons of replay value, and I can't wait to start my next character. Buy it when it's on sale, or don't, but if you're going to get any of the DLC, don't. Just get the season pass (preferably when it too is on sale).

Bought Fallout 3 GOTY edition recently, and I'm excited to see the new Fallout 76. Go Bethesda!

A very interesting 3rd person stealth game reminiscent of the original Metal Gear on the MSX.

In this game, your goal is to get from point A to B, usually with some side objective [that must be met] to complete the level. However, you die in one hit. So not only is stealth a good idea, it's mandatory. This also explains the games title - Volume. You can get around by just sneaking around gaurds... most of the time. But other times you may need to make a noise to trick them into going to the location of the sound. One cool feature is, you can make sound not just next to you, but also bounce it off of walls a few times.

A fun stealth puzzle game that I would recommend to anyone with a few bucks to spare.
