Quick and fun asymmetric 3rd person action game. As a former DbD player (about 2.5K hours), this game managed to scratch the DbD itch for me. Playing victim however is more action oriented here, while playing the family is less action oriented than in DbD. In TXCM you have to make tactical decisions about which escape route is the best option, as who you play and who your enemies are playing has a big impact on the game.

One strength that his game has is that as family, you are never stuck in endless chase against victims. They either manage to break the chase, or you catch up to them and kill them. This takes away a lot of frustration for killers. However, sometimes you are stuck playing a more supportive family member (Cook mainly), which can be frustrating, as you can't really chase down victims and you are very reliant on having him leveled up and having good teammates. Sometimes (mostly if you and your team plays poorly) survivors will make a really quick 4-man escape, which can be disheartening.

Playing victim is also very dependent on teammates. If they don't do objectives and/or die quickly, the game becomes very difficult and frustrating. Also, two of the family members have game breaking bugs, guaranteeing your death if it occurs to you. But this will of course eventually be fixed.

The game is a tad grindy, same as DbD.

All in all a fun and fast paced game! Great to play with friends too.

A promising game that even in EA standards can not be recommended.

To start off with: as many others have written, the gameplay itself is quite different than the Cook Serve Selicious games. Rather than mastering different recipes, this game has a more arcade-y approach in that the gameplay basically consists of the game telling you what button to press. This is fine in itself, if the rest of the game had some depth to it.

There are no upgrades that you can save up to buy, offering no sense of progression. To get the different locations to max level is a very grindy task, feeling like a chore. The different foods are basically just skins for the button pressing and offer no meaningful change to the gameplay. My last problem with the game is that it is extremely easy. Miss a button? Get penalised for a few seconds and drop down in the happiness meter. The problem with this is that the happiness meter is absolutely useless. It takes one successful combo to get it maxed out again and it is only if you drop below zero that you “lose” the day (at least I think so, it has never happened, even though I always go for the most difficult in-day upgrades). It is to my knowledge unclear if the developers have any plans for these problems, but they are very passionate and I’m sure they will work it out after a while.

The story itself seems fine so far, but do note that several cutscenes are still missing from the game.

Music is great.

Come back in 6 months and maybe it will be a good game to buy. As of right now, it is hardly any different than the demo they released in Spring. The game needs less skins (food, locations) and more gameplay.

This game improves even further the CSD formula while also switching it up a bit. The graphic design is the same as CSD2: gorgeous and hunger-inducing. Gameplay-wise when it comes to cooking is similar to CSD2, however the days are a bit different: instead of having rush hours and "chill" periods inbetween, you now drive to x amount of stops every day. On your way to the stop, you have to prepare Holding Station foods, and it is pre-determined how many orders of every HS food you will get, so you can plan accordingly. As a distraction, you also have to prepare some non-HS food in the meantime. You don't leave the stop until you have served all the pre-determined number of HS foods. Then you rinse and repeat this process until you have reached all the stops. This is a welcome change to the old rush hours, where you could cheese them by deliberately being slow to serve food filling up all the customer slots, resulting in a lesser amount of orders during the rush hours. There are over 300 days for you to play through so it takes a lot of time to 100% this game. Don't know how repetetive it will feel after 200+ days.

Music is great, art is great and the food catalog is huge.

The only negative thing I have to say about the game (and it bothers me quite a bit honestly) is that achievements do not work on my M1 Mac.

Same as the first one but better. Better graphics, more foods, better co-op. Excited for the 3rd one :)

The best rythm game for VR to date!

+ The laser swords feel very fluent and make the player feel very bad-ass ;)
+ The beatmaps are perfectly synced with the music
+ Multiple difficulty levels, anyone can play the game and Expert will be a challenge even for the most hardcore of players
+ Clean UI
+ Great music

- Small selecton of music, if you want the most bang-for-the-buck, you're probably better off waiting for a sale or additional tracks to be released

Very promising game, I can't wait for additional tracks and an eventual beatmap editor to be released!

Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a game made by three indie developers, it is available on a number of systems, but I will of course be reviewing the PC version.

The game is a hardcore restaurant time management game. You start off with a quite ugly restaurant in the SherriShoda tower, trying to become a 5 star restaurant manager.

Gameplay is really fluid and everything feels smooth. The game progresses well and becomes increasingly difficult as you play.

Lore-wise it isn't that deep, there are some funny elements but nothing too serious, but that isn't the focus of the game anyway.

The graphics are really lovely and even though it's only been 3 years I still feel confident enough to say that they age well. The animations are smooth and even your wooden laptop will be able to handle this masterpiece.

The sound track is very good but it can become a little repetetive if you play long sessions (several hours).

PROS:
-Supports a bunch of controllers, including the Steam Controller, Xbox 360, Xbox One, DS3, DS4 and even the Wii U Pro controller.
-Addictive
-Hardcore Restaurant Simulator
-Nice soundtrack
-Great graphics
-Not a demanding game
-Supports 2160p
-Local Co-Op
-Cheap
-Will last you many hours
-No external DRM

CONS:
-Soundtrack becomes repetetive after long gameplay sessions
-20 days for a new star feels grindy sometimes

If you like cooking games/restaurant games or other simulation games this is a must-buy.

I rate it 9/10

Coming from 2007, my hopes for this games weren't that high, however, it doesn't even feel that old!

The AI is funny and had me laughing to myself a few times.

The puzzles are mostly good and challenging, but never so challenging that I had to look at a walktrough.

The game will give you 6 hours of entertainment, including the Bonus Maps, enjoy!
