Amazing game, most fun I've had playing a game in years, its probably in the top 3 of my most enjoyed games ever, and i'm still relatively new to the experience.

Edit: this is now my favorite game

Good game, its a bit more linear than something like fallout new vegas but its still fairly freeform and enjoyable. Certainly had a lot of fair criticisms on release, but at this point, most of the once valid criticisms are now moot in the games current state.

All in all, its a very good game, in general one of the better games I've played in my time, absolutely worthwhile purchase, been enjoying it a lot.

EDIT: Whilst the game is still fun, hence why I am still recommending it, I feel it needs to be made clear that the 2.0+ updates are a mixed bag, on one hand, it added a lot of really cool stuff, on another hand, Cdpr has been excessively removing and nerfing the ♥♥♥♥ out of things for no good reason, a lot of build variability has been destroyed and now you've got to play very cookie cutter style builds in order to be viable.

(Out of all of the builds they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, netrunning was EASILY hit the hardest, completely destroyed the ability to play a pure stealth netrunner without spending (at least) 20 seconds in a menu per 1 second of actual gameplay, at least until the very late game, its just frustrating and disappointing that so many positive changes had to be accompanied by profoundly negative ones.)

Game was good back in the day when it was called "Red Crucible 2", I used to play it all the time on my browser, had a great time back then, however, whatever this game has become is no longer worthwhile

**RDR2 Singleplayer:**

Add higher FOVs for pc players, first person is generally unviable because they've locked it to unnecessarily low fovs regardless of one's monitor size, a mistake that rockstar for whatever reason wholly refuses to correct. Additionally, yes, the controls are clunky, it gets easier the longer you've played, but it never quite 'fits'. That being said however, the story is amazing, the characters, the world, and the visuals are stunning, and the protagonist might be just about my favorite (and best fleshed out) game protagonist i've ever had the pleasure of playing as. Worth buying i'd say, and if you get it for sale, even better.

**ONLINE:**

That being said, I love (singleplayer) rdr2, its a great game, however, Red dead online is from my (albeit somewhat brief) a completely soulless attempt by rockstar to squeeze more money out of it's audience. Additionally, rockstar does this to the detriment of the singleplayer game, locking content behind the online game (and what is indisputably a pay wall) and exempting players from accessing this content whilst in singleplayer, which whilst not having certain guns or clothes isnt going to ruin the singleplayer, it outlines rockstars parasitic outlook on game development, something you're well aware of if you ever played GTA online. Unlike Gta, online in red dead 2 is *Significantly* worse than GTA online ever was. Red dead online succeeds at adding even MORE tedium, and all the while never being nearly as engaging. I recommend you save your money if all you are interested in is the multiplayer.

Though it has its problems mechanically Its still a fun game despite its age, it holds up very well for its age, with a slight bit of modding you can make your experience with this game truly special and relatively modernized, though most mods arent really necessary, mods to fix the leveling system bonuses *are* essentially necessary unless you want to micromanage your character (I would also recommend a mod to up the total damage given/taken because by default everyone in the game including you is a damage sponge). Oblivion by default gets more difficult when you level up, enemies become more spongy and if you do not micromanage or mod the attribute bonuses you will quickly become outclassed. If youre coming from Skyrim or even any of the 3d fallout games, switching to oblivion can absolutely be jarring, however if youre able to stick around for one reason or another oblivion really is an amazing game worth putting some time into.

(Personally while I still do prefer the general gameplay of skyrim, there are absolutely aspects of oblivion that are far better than skyrims counterparts, the biggest being that many of the storylines within oblivion are deeper and more well thought out.)
