Ignore hours played, I have significantly more on Xbox One.

Steep learning curve but a fantastically rewarding game. Very little guidance which is a plus or a negative depending on the customer - I personally see it as a 'sandbox' type game in that you are chucked into a brilliantly deep, diverse and brutal (not to mention MASSIVE) galaxy with little to no help. Piracy, wars, politics, economies, aliens, mining, literally hundreds of millions of star systems to explore each with planets (to scale) many of which you can land on, with more detailed planets being added and new types of planets becoming explorable with the new update. This game has the best sound design from any game I have ever played, and the visuals are equally stunning. The community is brilliant (a few toxic players here and there but since they tend to be pirates/ warmongerers it just adds to the immersion for me lol) and playing with groups of people you get on with is a great laugh.

There are, of course, a couple downsides:
1. Not very often, but when new MAJOR updates are released as dlc, it has been known to create a large inequality between players due to players who haven't spent extra money missing out on improved equipment. Also linked to this is that some of the things you have to pay extra for are... questionable. For example, landing on planets was added with the horizons update - a $30 dlc at the time (has only recently gone free after 3-4 years). Any visual ship customisation is, unfortunately, done through micro-transactions, however the prices are fairly reasonable and there is a way to earn the micro-transaction currency by playing but it just takes a while.
2. This game is time consuming and a bit of a grind if you want to get better ships and 'progress' through the game. I personally don't find this to be much of an issue as the activities you grind are usually fun, interesting activities but they are a grind nonetheless. You may also spend a lot of time travelling at first, but later on it becomes easier as you learn more and upgrade your ship.

TL;dr - Would highly recommend for those who love space, open world games and immersion. Try and get involved with other players. One or two minor issues for me which some people (usually people who only play really high paced arcade games) can't get past.

Can't speak about the realism of this game as I don't have much experience with real life racing, but in my limited experience with this, PC2 and a lot of iRacing, this has the most responsive feel out of the 3. In fairness the other 2 are very close behind but if I ever just feel like hotlapping the f2004 around monza or lotus 98t round brands hatch, this is the game I load up. The ONLY issue I have is the lack of competitive racing online, as most racers online are the T-bone type - nothing against the game though!
