If you can get over the strong initial learning curve of the game, MWO is truly one of the best pvp mech games available. There is really no other game on the market right now that offers the same level of depth in designing your own mech loadouts and taking them into strategic combat.

While small, the community is dedicated and there are always full lobbies if you know what times to play at (NA lobbies are usually best on weekends and weekday evenings). Most players are generally there to relax and have a good time, and because of the small size players often recognize each other in lobbies. Simple team communication such as calling which targets you are focusing on shooting can go a long way to making the match experience better. The game has a small youtube and twitch scene where content creators share build ideas and gameplay tips, which are great references for making your own builds. There are always plenty of in-game events that offer rewards such as new mechs, cosmetics, and premium currency. These can be found on the game's website, or hidden on a tiny "E" button in the main menu (again, the UI learning curve is tough). Because of this, progressing as a free to play player doesn't feel slow or punishing so long as you know to check for event challenges.

That's not to say the game is without its issues, however. The game's engine is a very old version of Cryengine, and the performance can be spotty even on higher end rigs. Matches are extremely snowbally, as securing a few early kills on larger mechs will lead to quickly burning through the rest of the team. While a 12-0 defeat can be frustrating, it's important to keep your head up and queue again. Some community members are not so fond of new players and can be rather unsavory, but thankfully there is a mute option for voice chat. The faction play mode is especially toxic to new and solo players, so unless you can join a unit to 12 stack with sticking to quickplay is your best option.

Whether you are a diehard battletech fan or just like stompy robots, MWO is a great way to experience the Battletech universe and blow stuff up as a big mech.

Honestly, the game is finally reaching a playable state. While we aren't fully there yet, each update has taken us one step closer to finally having a good battlefield experience. Just hope they don't pull the plug right when things start to get good like what happened with BFV. Dice please

the only game that has you on your knees begging that they stop updating it. It will never end. You will keep starting new playthroughs.

YEAAAAAAA now this is peak garden warfare. Even if there were no players on multiplayer servers, the PvE Ops mode is amazing and worth buying this game just for that.

Before there was man, there was the soil centrifuge. The great soil centrifuge brought his spinning tendrils down to the universe to create the planets we now reside upon. He grants us his blessing by allowing us a fraction of his power in order to turn our soil into glorious bounty. May he smile upon us forver.

Amen

You'll never find a game like this one, the experience cannot be reproduced by any other game currently on the market. You'll also never find a game where players exclusively grind this game in order to send your ass to kingdom come from a bush 300 meters out and have their entire steam profile and personality developed on the fact that they play Hunt: Showdown a lot.

If your PC sucks I don't recommend trying to play this game, unless you want to cook steaks on your graphics card.
