It hurts me to have to review this game negatively. But this game is flat out ass. It's not even the heists, or the new changes. It sucks that I can't just start at max level but a game has to have progression no matter what your level was in the previous game. It's not even the lack of content because we're still in early release. It's the fact that you always have to be online. I failed stealth 6 times in a row because a person would join, ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ up, and leave. Even if there was an option to disallow people to join the very fact that I still have to create an online server to play ALONE is enough to piss me off. What the actual hell were you all thinking when you made the game always online. ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥. I'll say this. the devs are clearly trying to turn the game around from how it was on launch, and again the heists that are available are interesting. That's why it hurts me to give the game a negative review. I regret buying anything more than the base game, but since I splurged and bought the gold tier preorder I will check back regularly. In the meantime if anyone has a way to block randos from joining mid heist just to ♥♥♥♥ up my stealth and leave I am all ears. The stealth is way better than it was in payday 2 and even more enjoyable. EDIT: I'm leaving that in but I'm just hella stupid. I forgot to set it to invite only. Still sucks that I have to matchmake an empty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server. Just let me play offline.

One of the greatest games of all time. Nailing the vaporwave aesthetic and the feeling of early internet if it were a vr experience. I need a lore breakdown though.

Played through the game on switch, still in the process of beating here. Will say I recommend it highly, but lemme get this out of the way right now. I'm personally disappointed by the game on display. Gameplay is fun for sure. Improvements were made on the original jsr style of play, but it's the story that has me not feeling it. I won't spoil anything, but personally I felt like they tried to do too much. The story of jsr is "Crew wants to take over the streets and gets the attention of the yakuza". Simple, sweet, right to the point. Jsrf expanded on that by having the same plot but tossing a few extra things in there that never really get tied up. Like the kidnapping of Yo-yo. Homie gets nabbed by Rokkaku and we never really find him, but the plot was altogether still the same. Here it felt like there was way more story than there was room for in the game. The game itself is short in stature, with amazing gameplay and graphics that really fit the style they went for. However the short runtime does not compliment the story they wanted to tell in my opinion.things just sorta get dropped on you with no time to marinate. I recommend this to anyone who wants a new jsr because the gameplay, soundtrack, and overall look are way past on point.

Edit: I'm fairly certain I complained about the game being short. I'd like to retract that complaint. The game is fantastic, and though the story is still short there is soooooo much content. Recruitable characters that will push the bounds of what can and can't be done, so many tags to take over, so many secrets to find. The story is just the first course of this meal. A taste of the finer things to come once you have free reign of the whole map. Regardless I stand by that it's worth buying and I cannot wait to see what's in store from these devs.

Vety good, very fun. Surprisingly random lobbies aren't a terrible way to play this like they are in among us.

Fantastic soundtrack. I adored this game and everything about it

Just as good as the original, but now an open world with goody objectives and the ability to buy better tools. Absolutely loving it

A developer who cares about the community? Unheard of. The fact that past season passes can still be used once the season ends is amazing. These guys take what fortnite did and do it far better and way more consumer friendly.

Big time fan of this game. Here's hoping we eventually get that sequel because it deserves it for real
