This game's loop is pretty fun at first, until you run into people who are genuinely trying to win. This, in most games, does not present itself as an issue but the fact is that if somebody really wants to win they can do so while ruining the experience for everybody else, survivor or killer. You make a choice every time you begin the queue and that choice is "Do I want to have fun, or do I want to win?" If the killer decides that he/she wants to tunnel, camp, and use a build that is fine tuned to slow the game down as much as possible, you will have regretted not bringing Made For This, Resilience, Deliverance, Reassurance, Sprint Burst, Stake Out, Kinship, Prove Thyself, Leader, I mean the list goes on.

The same goes for killer. If you decide that you wanted to play Hillbilly and you threw on some perks that you thought were fun, a survivor team will roll you, and because they are used to killers who roll them with their own obnoxious perks, strategy, and addons, they will take out all of their frustration on you. You have to just try your heart out, and even then as a killer, you're going against perks that are unbalanced. Suddenly a fun game of Dead by Daylight after work or school is an anxiety inducing chore.

Hey, if you don't take things seriously and you wanna boop the snoot or whatever you people do, go for it.

Also this game's art style sucks and has been degrading for the past couple of years. Behavior does not ask themselves "Should we do this? Should we really add this to our game?" Skull Merchant is completely incongruent with the rest of the game, she is WAY too sci-fi. The Alien chapter, and the game's recent push into sci-fi does not suit the look and feel that the game was originally aiming for. This WAS at some point a rustic, simple game. Instead of expanding upon the gameplay loop, they continually add perks and characters which does not enrich the game but serves to further complicate it.

I assume the reason they do this is because they have made a promise to investors to release a chapter every quarter. Keeping track of all the perks, addons, and killer abilities is absolutely nauseating. At some point, they should have began making new gamemodes, game mechanics (they haven't added a new one since the end-game collapse, which was like 4-5 years ago), and more custom match features. When this game came out, it had a sort of beta feel to it, people stuck around because they were waiting for the developers to add more ♥♥♥♥. Who would be happy with a game as barebones as this? And to some extent, the constant additions of new killers and survivors kept people happy since the base gameplay loop was being expanded upon greatly, but the base gameplay loop has not changed whatsoever. It becomes entirely uninteresting because the developers have literally never changed it.

This is not a good game. The reason I played for so long was because I was expecting some sort of positive change, and sometimes I got it like the Great Meta Shake-Up, but Behavior has serious commitment issues. They go halfway with changes because they're afraid of upsetting their fractioned player-base. A player-base that they divided through their own decisions. I just wish this company could grow a pair of balls because either they don't play the game they work on or they do and they are afraid to act because of community backlash.

Oh yeah, the community sucks. When the games' most popular (and broken) perks were reworked, survivors retaliated by throwing games intentionally to skew data on a large scale. Hahahaha.

This game can be amazingly pleasant, euphoria on an IV drip. It can also feel like a cat following a laser pointer.

The most complicated tactical FPS with the most amount of moving parts. For better and for worse.

Provides diverse and incredibly rewarding gameplay. No two matches are the same with this game, that's why it's stuck around for so long.
