Don't play this game until they address the immaturity in the community. It's a fantastic game, well polished, with promises that the rest of Paragon will make it into the cast as well. I love the gameplay when I get to have gameplay, but that has already become rare after a single week.

The lack of a report or punishment system for bad behavior has emboldened people to just let their absolute worst out as if ruining their teammates' fun is the most optimal way to get to the next match.

The game also has a surrender button, which I view as a huge flaw. Fragile people will give up or start arguing after the slightest mistake because they are no longer having a "good" game, and then they will sit in fountain and call surrender votes until you give up on trying to 4v5/3v5 or whatever. One way to ameliorate this (in addition to removing the surrender button...) is to do what DotA did and give players bonus gold/xp when they kill or assist in killing a player that is more farmed than them.

Nobody is going to lose their house if they don't win every single match of Predecessor, but the community would make you think the secret police is going to kick their door down if they lose.

Be an MMO healer without having to deal with your allies being braindead. Very comfy

The problems with this game are mostly related to people rather than the game itself.

The devs are cooking something. I'd wait to see what comes next. I think they know they're on their last shot.

An influx of enough people willing to stick to the game to learn it could breathe life into it. The problem arises when groups of new players get the game and wind up being matched against stacks of more experienced players, leading to a seal clubbing that makes them want to quit. Woefully low player count makes matchmaking a non-solution to this attitude problem from the existing playerbase.

If you have enough people (groups of 4+) willing to buy the game to play private matches, then do that. It's a lot of fun when nobody is taking themselves too seriously! But public queue has been killed by the people that are most passionate about the game, and they're dead set on blaming the devs' mismanagement (which, yes, there was plenty) instead of doing what they could as players to improve the new player experience.

Best gunplay in the Borderlands series. Very satisfying to use most guns, even bad ones.
Lots of content, and still receiving updates after the game's been out for a while. That's awesome.

Missing a "true" raid boss experience, but it has something close enough.

Worst writing in the Borderlands series. Like, by a longshot. If you want a compelling story, play The Pre-Sequel. If you want the jokes to be funny, play the original Borderlands.
There is one player character class that has got a lot more potential and flexibility than the others.

This game is amazing with mods.

Early game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible in any terraria run, modded or otherwise. The only thing you can do about it is push through it and tell yourself there will be more action and fun later.

This is the only game with an awesome fantasy/RPG-like combat system (no RPG stats though) that also has an awesome creative system that I've found on steam. Even well after its release and as development begins to slow, it's worth getting if you don't own it.

Game is fun.
Combat sucks.
Story is AIDS.

But the environments and the scares are pretty fun, especially with friends. Low server tickrate means that your friends won't be smoothly animated, though :(

Worth playing when drunk at night, but not worth playing for the """experience""" especially since the combat is somehow worse than an elder scrolls game.

There's a million things to do, but most of the time it will boil down to finding a way to kill the NC MAX with 2 pockets or the medkit chugging heavy at TI alloys.

Still, a game which exposes so much information about each character through a public API is amazing -- you can retrieve information from a simple number of times you've thrown a grenade, to the number of shots you've fired with each weapon -- this allows people to create some pretty in-depth statistical tools.

Highly recommend for any FPS gamer that cares more about their personal goals (e.g. "I want to get a 40% headshot ratio with this weapon") than flashy things showing up on screen. Though, there's plenty of flashy goals to shoot for, too, if you want to go for prescribed directives -- all of which have some cool rewards at the end for pursuing :)

Captain's Edition and all its extensions give this game 100% replayability without even needing custom ship mods. It's the only game I have installed on my laptop for when I get on the train and it's well worth buying.

developer is still far too young to have any concept of a business model, also wrote a game in a programming language that has far too much overhead (hurr i need ALL the .dll calls) to have any sort of gpu-utilizing gl/dx context, and furthermore with the latest beta decided he did not want to continue actually producing game content, and left it entirely up to the user to add low-poly models and map regions to his already poorly-optimized game.

being able to write notes is funny though 2/10
