Early Access Review
The problems with this game are mostly related to people rather than the game itself.

The devs are cooking something. I'd wait to see what comes next. I think they know they're on their last shot.

An influx of enough people willing to stick to the game to learn it could breathe life into it. The problem arises when groups of new players get the game and wind up being matched against stacks of more experienced players, leading to a seal clubbing that makes them want to quit. Woefully low player count makes matchmaking a non-solution to this attitude problem from the existing playerbase.

If you have enough people (groups of 4+) willing to buy the game to play private matches, then do that. It's a lot of fun when nobody is taking themselves too seriously! But public queue has been killed by the people that are most passionate about the game, and they're dead set on blaming the devs' mismanagement (which, yes, there was plenty) instead of doing what they could as players to improve the new player experience.
