This amazing, yet, immersive survival VR game for the most enthusiastic survivalists. And for once, no zombies. There's these "Dark Creatures" that are not easy to see. Making it harder to spot them at first glance.

Weapons are various. You get to use various cold war, WW2, and modern weapons. Plenty of rifles, shotguns, and fully automatic weapons. Enemies do react to loud gunfire. Suppressors are not silent, they are muffled, but still noticeable from close-by enemies. And neat ways to load guns like shotguns, shells can be loaded on a rack outside of the gun for fast grab and load. Same way with a Mosin. While not a HUGE selection of attachments, I think that will change in the future... maybe...

Game takes place in Russia. And the enemies are various... the environment is pretty creepy. While graphics are not top notch, it's still impressive. And you have to clean the guns with your hands. No button pushing to clean guns. It's all you who has to clean them. And they are not your "free gun repairing" kits. They only keep your gun in good condition.

Weapons can and will jam if the condition is poor.

To prevent from completely spoiling the game, it's a neat survival game, and a nice change of pace from usual zombie enemies. Not sure if it's worth the $40... but it's still a good game. I highly recommend, 4/5. 8/10. I hope this game gets better as time goes on.

This game is very story driven, all characters have their own individual personalities, and it's an emotionally-challenging game. And I'll define how well-driven.

PROS

Your choices matter for how this story goes. The protagonist you control and the choices you make will define how characters will think of your protagonist.

Your choices and actions will carry from Episode to Episode, which is a rarity... unless you're talking Tell Tale Games.

Players would have to be conscious but quick with their responses if they wish their protagonist to be a real saint, a completely selfish man, an indecisive individual, it all depends on how your responses/choices add up as the game progresses.

If there are choices you didn't like, you can always rewind them. But it would mean erasing all of your data from after you reached that certain point you're rewinding to.

Unfortunately, there are some flaws in regards to Storyline, and how this game plays...

CONS

You're forced to pick a side... or none at all. This game will not allow you to find common grounds with the characters. You're either with them, against them. Even if you don't pick a side, you're technically against them anyway.

This game forces you to continue the storyline in it's own fashion, no matter what. Like for example, I won't give any spoilers to the game's characters names or place in what episode, but this spoiler will tell you how this one scene goes: There's person A, Person B, and Person C. A is trying to save C from death while B insists that he's going to die anyway and you're faced with choosing either to help A with C, or assisting B with killing C. But no matter which you choose as the protagonist, C will die, then A and/or B will be think negatively of your protagonist afterwards.(Unless this is before the last episode and you can make it up to them). End of spoiler, in a nutshell.

You're faced with choices that no matter what choice you'll make, there will always be at least ONE character that's going to start thinking of your protagonist negatively.

There will be scenarios that will make you choose, fair warning. This game is awesome, but half of the time, forceful... I will say this, in a nutshell this story is One-Way. A very interesting, attention-grabbing, emotional, but One-Way story.

That's all.

If I had to choose a zombie game such as:

Zombie Panic: Source
Contagion
Left 4 Dead 2
ZombiU(AKA Zombi)
No More Room in Hell

I'd choose, No More Room in Hell

Between Contagion and No More Room in Hell, the differences are with options for players to choose.

For ex: When you become infected on Contagion, either you have medicine for the virus or you fully turn into a zombie. No way around the infection. Sure, your teammates can put the infected players down, but the game penalizes them for friendly fire.

In No More Room in Hell, there's more options with how to deal with an infected player:

1. The player has medicine for the infection
2. The player slowly waits for the infection to take it's course and come back as a zombie
3. Or the player can commit... suicide. That's right, compared to most zombie games, you can ensure you don't fully turn into a Walker when all other means are unavailable. By pressing the suicide button(K by default) and you have a gun, you can put yourself down. What's even more cool is that even if you hit it by accident, it won't automatically make the player commit suicide. The player has to hit the Primary Fire button(LMB by default) to finish the deed. AND it has to be loaded. This zombie game is by far the most realistic game to boot.

If you want a more realistic zombie game(second to DayZ) I highly recommend this game. It's so realistic, it's not even funny.

Early Access Review
I enjoyed this game, still do, even if others sneer at it. But this game is shutting down. Thumbs down for a game that has stayed open for years. Many hours gone in this game... if reto doesn't allow account transfers, the new H&G2 will die in a fire before it even starts. A game that started good then fell from grace. Goodbye H&G1.
