I really cannot bring myself to hate this game. It is far, FAR, from perfect, but I get the sense that they tried to make something out of this. Triptych Games did what they could to salvage this mess. As it stands, at least the Doctor Who Cloned Me is good.

I kinda love it? The atmosphere is easily the best part, each level had me on edge and nervous throughout. The level design in particular feels great, maps have a nice flow and shortcuts open periodically. I would recommend playing on normal for a first run. The game isn't hard per say, but you will be running low on ammo. I'd almost call it survival horror if the emphasis wasn't on the action. Anyway, buy it, play it, and check back in for the upcoming episodes and updates.

Big guns, big explosions, big personality. I really don't know how else to describe this absolute gem of a game. Shelly is going down as one of my favorite FPS protagonists, easily earning a spot next to the Duke and Caleb. Every gun, every enemy, every level has this insane level of detail and care put into them. The environments and level design feel natural and cohesive, each level seamlessly blending into the next. The locations themselves are varied and interesting (minus the subway tunnels/sewer areas), ranging from the streets of a city high in the sky to a derelict hospital located in the outskirts. I don't think I can do this game justice, just buy it.

DUSK is a game that goes above and beyond expectations. It's distilled dedication and effort to the craft of video game making, a testament to the talents of David Szymanski, Andrew Hulshult, and Dave Oshry. DUSK is a game with a perfect ramp, expertly building up each fight, each level, each episode into something so utterly incomprehensibly awesome that you feel drained upon completion. It is absolutely worthy of your time and money, it is a game that from start to finish will have you grinning ear to ear or tense with anxiety. 10/10, I wish I could wipe my memory and re-experience the game all over again.

So this game right? Amazing, incredible, some of the most fun you'll have in an FPS period. It has flaws of course: gargoyles are annoying as hell, hitscanners laser beam you the second you're in view, levels can be confusing due to a large size or tricky layout. But blasting a cultist 50 feet away, cutting off the latin ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ he was screaming all while cackling like a madman is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good that I simply don't care about anything else. Wolfenstein, Doom, Operation: Body Count, Half-Life, all are probably more important in the larger history of gaming for pioneering the FPS genre. Blood, however, is unadulterated fun. Pick it up, but don't make my mistake. Play on Lightly Broiled first. Well Done is do-able, but its not the best first experience you could have. MARANOX INFIRMUS!

So I played this game back in 2017 where it was my runner-up for GOTY (Evil Within 2 was better) and I loved the game. I enjoyed the over-the-top, violent explosion that the game is. I completely understand how people can be turned-off by the game. The marketing was obnoxious and the story itself feels rushed towards the end. But after finishing it again after almost 3 years, I still love the game. The movement is fast, the levels design is good (barring some very open areas) and the enemy variety is decent (though I do miss the shotgun soldiers with the weak points) and the weapons all feel fun to shoot. I do recommend the game, it goes on sale for cheap every time. Just be warned that it is a game of extreme highs and lows when it comes to the presentation.

Do you like shooting aliens, but mordern gaming can't scratch that itch? Then hop into one of the best fps games of all time. With great level design, fun weapons, and a protaganist with a personality, this game is a steal at $10. It even comes with all the expanisons! (Life's a Beach is my fav) What are you waiting for? Stop reading this review and buy the damn game.
