This game, despite being a very simple idle game, oozes with charm. While the actual amount of "gameplay" is limited, the main focus seems to be on the story. I have been engaged with it enough that I am replaying the game for the sake of seeing different dialogue options.
DO NOT SKIP THE DIALOGUE.
If you are playing this game and skipping all of the dialogue you are actively ruining your own experience. Even worse, you aren't seeing Kato for nearly as long as you should be and Kato is precious and must be protec and

Pros:
There is good character development, especially considering how short the game is. I legitimately lost sleep being worried about a fictional character.
It's free
m e t a
references
no IAPs (you can buy the soundtrack though its pretty good)
kato cute

Cons:
No offline progression
Some portions of the game don't make it entirely clear what you need to do to progress
endgame has too much time without kato why do they have to make sad for so long ahhhh

Info:
heavily encourages idling for most of the game, active gameplay can only increase your dps by like 20% or so
the best way to play is probably to check up on it every couple hours, reading the story and getting whatever upgrades are available each time. trying to speedrun or optimize this game is a mostly pointless effort. the heart of this game is its story. also kato.

Final Verdict:
kato

I'm not here for the OST, I'm just giving devs money for a free game because I enjoyed it far more than I should have.
The music is still pretty good though.

i got this for 50 cents so I wasn't expecting much but like
this game is ACTUALLY GOOD
worth buying full price

pros:
cool concept
you will start doing speedrunning techniques by accident and feel like a badass
NANOMACHINES SON
story is completely ridiculous but i love it
highest quality picture of a cheesesteak ive ever seen in a drawing
did i mention speedrun techniques because they are really neat
learning potential
there is a rhythm mechanic thats pretty neat

cons?:
difficulty spikes, HARD.
no way to change controls as far as i am aware
game is only 1-2 hours long, but its under a dollar what do you expect
not a whole lot of replayability other than speedrunning
you can die as you beat the boss and the boss death animation plays but then you die and it restarts the fight and it only happened once to me but AHHHHHHHH THAT MADE ME MAD

Overall this game is a solid 9.5/10 definitely worth the low price of $1

actually pretty good rhythm game for the price
takes a little getting used to and the spacebar is a terrible feature but none of the maps use it anyways
large song selection and has workshop support so thats nice
not a big online community except for people ranked way higher than you who will completely obliterate you on songs way outside your skill level, but you can always just play with a friend

overall 8/10 buy if on sale (steam gave me coupon for some reason)

Gameplay is fluid, unique, and interesting
Music is bangin, fantastic OST
My only real complaint is the online. The playerbase isn't very large and you will often go against people with connections so bad that it is practically unplayable sometimes. But that's more a problem with your opponents' internets rather than the game itself.

Overall I'd give the game a solid 9/10, definitely pick it up if its on sale and you have someone locally to play with or a friend with good internet

Great game, as long as you have somebody to play it with.
Combat is engaging, which is good considering its the only part of the game.
All of the weapons are perfectly balanced, mostly because there is only one.
Even so, this game is great. It is a completely skill based fighter where both sides have equal chances. There's no complicated combos to memorize. It is extremely easy to learn, yet retains a level of mastery that can only be formed through experience.
It is a game of predictions, reaction time, strategy, and running for your life.

What was that last part? Oh yeah. In this game a successful strategy is to just try to get past your opponent and run. The game keeps chokepoints to keep it fair though.

Overall I recommend this game, even though the online is dead.

EDIT: removed extremely outdated and cringeworthy references

Early Access Review
I never wrote a review about this game, but might as well now. Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is a pretty simple game. You are a sword robot, you fight other robots which may or may not have swords. After every round you can upgrade your robot to get new weapons (like a bow or hammer), abilities (jetpack, kick, or armor), or to basically give yourself a 1-up. The levels get progressively harder each time you beat one, with harder and more difficult enemies. The game might get bland after a while, but more and more levels are being added to the Workshop. The level creator is easy to use and simple, and any levels you create can be sent to streamers on Twitch directly. Twitch mode is a pretty big part of the game, as it allows viewer integration, which is good for engaging your audience (i do some streaming myself if you want to check me out :D). They can spawn enemies or allies to join you in game, which can lead to some particularly "emotional" moments. As i stated before, levels can be submitted to streamers, and with a press of a button the streamer can queue them into their game. The story mode is still being made, but is a good start for early access. The game always saves your progress in almost every mode, so you can quit and pick back up where you left off.
For early access this game is a gem, and it is sold at a very reasonable price for a game constantly being developed (the dev often streams himself making the game). If you are a Twitch streamer, this game is a must have.
