I got this game years ago in order to sate my desire for undersea adventure. It's a lovely little game with a very beautiful atmosphere, and in a few weeks it's going to leave the Steam Store. The devs did a wonderful job with making a short adventure game that has a definite ending, thereby giving a clean story. This game has brought me joy, and i'm disappointed to see it go.

There are cute, chubby little lootbugs.

You can pet them, and the insectoid critters you tame on a per match, using a specific perk.

There is a dog central to the story who's a loyal companion, and who carries gear for you and barks to alert you of threats.

If that wasn't enough to sell you on it, then consider the fact that even though you can't control when, the dog gets countless pets by the player character throughout the game. 17/10

Update Aug 9th 2022: I installed a mod that lets me pet dogs.

But additionally I had a fantastic experience earlier. Between this, and the original Steam release I've put nearly 2000 hours into this game, but things I haven't seen before still happen!

I was out for a stroll in a region full of beautiful thermal pools and geysers, almost like Yellowstone. About 40 feet to my right was a giant, out for an evening stroll. This is nothing to be concerned about because giants are peaceful unless you encroach on their camp, and his camp was nowhere near. I always enjoy seeing them in the world. Looking at him, I'm reminded that artist Jonah Lobe designed them to inspire the awe you feel when you're a little kid, and you look up to see your dad, this man who's giant in comparison to you, and you just get a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Just then, I noticed a saber toothed cat on my left, about to pounce!

I exchange blows with it, and am fairing well when off to my right I hear:

*THUMP* *THUMP* *THUMP*

The giant is quickly approaching me. "Uh oh, better watch out" I think to myself, as a power attack from their hammer can one shot you, even in late game.

When the footsteps reach my location I hear a *FWOOMP* the sound of the giant lifting his hammer to strike. I brace.

*BOOM*

I hear, as the giant's hammer lands on the saber cat, launching it into orbit, thereby creating the Nordic space program.
"Oh phew, he missed." I think to myself, as I prepare for him to strike at me now. But instead...he simply looks down at me with his wisened eyes. Then he turns around and returns to his stroll.

So in short I'm still having fun and having new experiences after 2000 hours, AND I can finally pet the dogs 9/10

You can get a dog. He's a good, smart, tough boy (or girl).

You and your party members can pet them in dialogue and certain cutscenes. You can give them toys and treats too. 10/10
