Would I recommend a standalone story mod that's well made for my favourite game series?

Gee I wonder.

Knight's Path: The Tournament is a free and delicious teaser of what the full game (which will simply be called Knight's Path) can be in the future, promising an open-world setting and comprehensive RPG elements.

At a first sight the game strongly resembles Kingdom Come: Deliverance visually, and that is definitely the goal.

The combat mechanics in Knight's Path draw inspiration from the intense and skill-based battles of Sekiro. Initially challenging, the combat quickly becomes intuitive, demanding precise timing and strategic maneuvers. While the combat mechanics are quite complex, there's room for improvement, especially in distinguishing various enemy attacks. Implementing distinct sounds and effects for different types of enemy heavy attacks (which there are 3 types so far) could further enhance the already solid combat.

Overall, my experience with Knight's Path: The Tournament was very positive. You absolutely have nothing to lose by trying the game, as it's completely free and without any scummy microtransactions, or anything of that sort.

Go play it!

It didn't crash, this series isn't what it used to be back in my day.

Other than that the game is a ton of fun, it starts to drag a bit near the end but overall the experience is worth every cent, the areas are very different and enemies never get old thanks to their variety. Cutscenes are very pretty, I genuinely hope that they make a TV series in that style with either Rick or Corey.

And a big plus from me for that Gothic reference!

Firstly I'd like to say that just like with Gothic 1 I have spent most of my childhood playing these on my physical copies. Countless hours spent loving this series and I will probably continue to love them forever, the games aren't without flaws but the positives outweigh them heavily.

Both Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 have been updated on the steam version with SystemPack which makes it possible to run these on modern systems by default, but I still recommend downloading Union from the steam workshop. I hope you can overlook the graphics and give this game a fair shot if you've never played it before. You should definitely play Gothic 1 first, it sets up the story and context for the character's motivations. This game gets a bad reputation for its control scheme but it feels incredibly natural when you get familiar with it, combat is honestly very skill based and also enjoyable when you get the hang of it. The world has been carefully made by hand and all of the fauna in the world is just placed perfectly. Many of the game's features are absolutely mind blowing for when the games came out G1 (2001), G2 (2002).

Lastly I'd like to mention the Gothic 1 Remake that is currently in the works by Alkimia, under THQ Nordic. Their playable teaser got a lot of feedback and they decided to scrap what was present in the PT and instead they are making a faithful remake, instead expanding on what existed in 2001 and improving on it (which is the perfect way to make a remake, take notes AAA studios), since the original game underwent a lot of last minute changes. There is a lot of misinformation surrounding the playable teaser, sadly. Let's hope it all goes well and that they will decide to make a remake of Gothic 2/3 as well, this series deserves all the love in the world.

If you read all of this borderline lucid blabbering, thank you for your time. And excuse my English, if there are any grammatical mistakes, I'm bilingual.

This game will make you scared to play it, sometimes I have to stay away from it because the stress is too much. Whatever you do, don't get attached to your characters.

A classic from my, and many people's childhood. My playtime on Steam might be low, but I easily have thousands of hours on my physical copy.

Controls aren't actually as bad as people say when you learn the rhythm and train a little bit in-game. This game is from an era when games had a spark and creative people behind them, which is something technology can't replicate.

I am quite hopeful for the remake, not overhyped. Even if it sucks we still have this to come back to.

If this isn't worth your money.. then I don't know what is. A must play for Sci-fi RPG fans. One of the showcases of what a good remaster should be.

There's nothing more that needs to be said.

If you are a fan of any futuristic immersive sims like System Shock or Deus Ex, this is a must play. However I'd recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a story that will suck you in and won't let go until you finish. (the story)

This is the easiest 10/10 for me. The only flaw is its name, which is not Arcane's fault.
Support developers that make great games.

Early Access Review
I got the game for free, but I feel like I was scammed anyway.
This is a game with no premise, no innovation, no inspiration and no future.

These developers are relying on free assets that they can find online, which is not a bad thing, if done right, but that isn't the case here. Most of the assets don't have any form of artstyle consistency, which makes this quite the experience, and I don't mean that in a good way.

If someone showed me this game and I didn't know anything about it I'd guess it's a Unity asset flip mobile game, which is almost the case, but it's for Windows only, but the performance is somehow worse than what mobile games usually have on much weaker hardware than my computer, which is hilarious because as of now all the game is is an empty map with very unappealing textures and broken obstacles.

The game has gone through more revisions than Mario, but with much less appealing gameplay. It really seems like the devs have absolutely no idea what they wanted to make, so they looked into their Steam library and mashed all of the games they own together into an absolute mess without any direction. The devs HAVE to make up their mind and sort out their assets, if they ever want to sell this game.

All of these things make it very hard for me to recommend this game to anyone as of now.

It's alright I guess, I just started understanding basic mechanics. It might take a few more thousand hours to finish act 1.

Jokes aside this game is amazing and you should try it, it's free and frequently updated! (if you can overlook Tencent owning a large part of the company).
