Message was a little simple, but other than that, everything was great, especially for a <1 hour playtime.

So uhhhh.... Don't play this late at night without anyone else around. Unless you really wanna wallow in the abyss for awhile, then go nuts.

This is probably as close as I can get to wargames before I irrevocably change as a person.Maybe its already too late.

I don't know if this is a hot take or not, but I think this game is a great improvement over the first. While it shares many aspects, and I think the first one's story has a much better endgame, Sith Lords manages to have a much better flow to its gameplay loop, and also unlike the first game, I actually want to return to it and do another playthrough. Overall, I had a lot more fun in the minute to minute gameplay compared to KOTOR 1, which honestly felt more novelty then pure fun. Additionally, I think your party is a bit more memorable than the first game, although I think that might just be my personal preference.

My biggest complaint (aside from the bugs, which I still believe to be the biggest detractor for both this game and the previous) is that it doesn't really feel "complete". Almost like I was missing large parts of the game and story, and planets felt a lot smaller than they should've been, while "dungeons" (locations where there is nothing to do but kill and loot) felt empty and a bit too long for what they needed to be.

With all that said, however, if you had fun with the first game, I think I can confidently recommend this one as well.

Really wish the port was better. If bugs and memory overflow issues are problems that are too much for you, then I can't really recommend it in good faith.

The game itself, however, is fairly adequate by my standards, though I'm more of a jrpg fan. I can still definitely understand why it has the reputation it does, however. Doesn't have as much depth as I would like gameplay wise, but I really dug the story and presentation of the Star Wars universe in rpg format.

Overall, any frustrations and disappointments I had didn't really get in the way of my enjoyment, and while maybe not the most glowing praise, I think the novelty of this game is something most fans of Star Wars can have fun with despite its drawbacks.

In my opinion, Paradox (As of late, at least) has priced their games and dlc too high for both the amount and quality of content actually contained therein. This issue is subjective, but its too big for me to overlook. I'd like to only judge the game by the content itself, but I find it really difficult to enjoy Paradox games with a massive hole in my pocket.

Also, they really need to either bring more content into the expansions themselves, or consolidate them together, because they've felt really hollow lately.

This game is probably the most interesting success in the past few years, considering the current state of the industry. It manages to be both incredibly simple and infinitely complex, as well as being cheap and easy to pick up.

It's the perfect example of an indie game going all in on one gameplay aspect and it paying massive dividends, and despite what was likely a very low production budget, its presentation was actually quite pleasant, especially to retro fans.

While I'm not sure if it is something everyone will love, I do wholeheartedly believe that it is definitely worth a shot.

Early Access Review
Fun enough. Definitely has potential, but most god games never meet it. Hope this can be an exception.

It's funny, but was the joke worth not just making a new game?

Maybe.
