I think one of the reasons this game is so highly rated is cause disliking seems purely down to personal preference, rather than criticism of what it's trying to achieve.

Here's what I mean:
1) Every single aspect of gameplay has a purpose, there are no dominant builds or weapons, and I find myself using all of them frequently.
2) The writing and voice acting are fantastic and vast, so much contextual and plot dialogue that makes you feel you're progressing in a roguelike, it's crazy!
3) By extension, I love Zagreus as a protagonist. It's great to see a masculine character be kind, sensitive and friendly than regressive machismo. Also nice to have a lgbt characters that aren't treated differently or fetishized. It means a lot.
4) Great music which adapts to the energy you feel in fights.
5) The art is also amazing, cannot get enough of the world.
6) Not a single bug in 40 hours of gameplay, the experience feels so damn tight.
7) Extremely user-friendly, being able to know what boons I haven't used for prophecies and prerequesites for boons is unbelievably useful even if you're not an achievement hunter. Also no missable achievements and accessibility options for busy people which is really considerate.
8) The game devs took their time crafting the game and it shows! Treat your devs well!
9) Great community is a bonus, one of the friendliest!

After playing most major 2020 releases, my personal GOTY!

I've played and 100% The Witcher 3 on the PS4 already, and completed the campaign 3 times, adding a 2nd 100% completion and 4th playthrough on PC would be a pleasure.

Its fine, especially for mod free playthroughs. Its more stable, somehow less laggy, less bugs, Alt-tab works etc. The game has had quite a few touch ups and its just nice to replay the game. There is a non-workshop Mod community in-game but is still a bit small as the game hasn't been here for a while. Note that you can't carry modded files over to SE. I just care about Elder Scrolls 6 being Valenwood like its thought to be.

Early Access Review
Starbound is a great game and I actually think it would be worth the money as a full release now. I love the ability to travel through the universe and find the many secrets which hide within it. The community of this game is also great with an easy to mod interface and knowing this game hasn't been left in early access limbo is a huge relief to me. This game just has so much potential and the things that are being added make me squeal with nerd joy. Here are some of the things that are already in the game that you should enjoy:
Paint gun (They're always fun!)
Musical Instruments (Packed with songs and you can mod in your own)
Races! (These are also moddable)
Custom Ships with soon to be teirs (Mods can make it so you can customise your ship down to each block!)
Randomized and Preset Animals
Civilizations with a city planet around the early access corner
Randomised weapons (Yes, moddable)
Randomised Planets!
There's so much more but these are some of the great features in this game! Keep up the good work ChuckleFish team! You guysare great!

This has got to be one of the most addicting games I've ever played. The wierdest thing is, I cannot put my finger on one thing that makes it that way. Is it the atmosphere? The holds? The loot/dungeons? The quests? This list could go on forever but the point I'm trying to say is that everything has a place in making the game that much better for me. If that one thing wasn't there, the game just wouldn't be as immersive for me as it is, because, every bit of effort put in to make this game has been worthwhile and isn't just some stupid RPG grinder to make it 'longer' or anything like that.
Everything you do never is boring and everytime you discover a new area, you see how much hard work has been put in, for there are no places which make you feel that there is nothing to do, there is always something to do. Dungeons are sweet too and are always a cool new experience to be grabbed. With around 300+ fully-fleged quests (More with mods and DLC) and an infinite amount of mini-quests (or whatever you want to call it,) you'll soon find out that this game is LITERALLY UNFINISHABLE. Not just is this perfection, The Elder Scrolls are the only series to succeed in making a game for this genre.
Now, lets make it short and sweet: The DLC is worth buying and actually expand the game unlike many other DLCs (especially the Dragonborn DLC,) and the mods alone make it worthwhile to buy this god of a game on your PC. The game runs fast and looks good on any quality.
There are many other things I would like to talk about but this reveiw would be too long so I'm just going to say: everything else that I haven't mentioned is probably good and that you shouldn't listen to anyone who would disagree. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to play Skyrim!
(While I'm playing this God of a game, you should buy this game, just saying, it hasn't won over 200 awards for nothing!)
