If you've never played Persona 3 before, you should definitely find the time to invest it in. It has an incredible story and it has arguably some of the best social links in the entire franchise. I also liked the main cast and the music in this game slaps hard.

That being said, as a port in 2023 it is awful. The audio sometimes sounds like mind-boggling noise and the "remastered" visuals look like it was thrown in a budget AI upscaler. There is also a lack of 3D cutscenes which make playing this game feel like a slog. This is not even considering the gameplay aspects of this port, as Tartarus is a nightmare to grind along with the fact it's absolutely terrible trying to fuse personas. You know that something is wrong when I feel like dropping the game at the CLIMAX of the story.

I recommend either waiting for this game to go on sale or just running the games (FES and Portable) on an emulator.

If you like inflicting pain on yourself, having your base griefed by friends, and get murdered by monkeys and giants, this is the game for you!

Persona 4 Golden makes me wish I was back in high school and did more with the friends I had. Although some gameplay aspects are partially clunky, this is more than made up for the phenomenal soundtrack, story, and characters that bring to life the beauty of pursuing the truth.

Anyone who has played Persona 5 should definitely play this game. Even if you aren't familiar with the Persona series, any casual looking into RPGs should give this game a chance. I would purchase this game even at full price just because of how much I was blown away by the experience.

I liked the part when Joker said "its royalin time" and royaled all over the shadows

Cult of the Lamb is the newest kid on the block when it comes to rogue-likes. It largely shares attributes from other big names in the rogue-like genre, such as The Binding of Isaac and Hades. However, what sets this game apart from these other games is the objective of raising a successful cult/civilization and cultivating followers to do your bidding. This aspect of the game in contrast is more relaxed and casual, similar to Animal Crossing.

I really liked the village raising aspects of this game as being able to do quests and interacting with your followers makes this game a lot more interesting. I also think that the art style and soundtrack are aesthetically pleasing that helps with immersing yourself in the gameplay. In terms of the action elements, I enjoyed the various atmospheres of the domains and the ability to make choices on where you could take your exploration to. My main gripes with this game are that the combat is partially shallow, with the bosses being underwhelming, and the lack of replay value upon completing the game once.

Based on my experiences, I recommend buying this game when it's on sale.

Master-class story with an outstanding soundtrack and wonderful characters. The combat system is very unique and you're rewarded well for understanding the game's mechanics. The main criticisms from me are that there are some wasted time with unnecessary obstacles/pathing as well as how there are only two graphics optimization options in-game.

Although this is an absolutely great game, I recommend buying it when the game goes on sale because the price tag is slightly too high for what this game offers.

I now join the rest of the Hollow Knight community in waiting for Silksong to release.

In seriousness though, Hollow Knight is easily one of the best platformers/metroidvanias that I've played in a long time. Efforts to improve and explore Hallownest are greatly rewarded and the lore of Hallownest is practically limitless. While the early-game of Hollow Knight can be a bit slow, the enjoyment significantly increases once you start getting power-ups and upgrades to your equipment. The game is in a great difficulty such that the game isn't too easy to be fun, but not too hard such that it gatekeeps players from accessing all of the game's content.

While it took me a long time to finally pick up the game, I realized that I've made regrets in not doing so earlier as this game is a top quality gem. Any fan of platformers or just gamers who want to have a good time, I recommend that you give the game a try.
