"If we accept the person we are when we fall, the journey ends. That failure becomes our destination. To love the journey is to accept no such end. I have found, through painful experience, that the most important step a person can take is always the next one."

The best RPG I've ever played. Huge on player choice, so much so that it plays like a tabletop RPG (a la Dungeons and Dragons). The writing is unmatched, characters are all super interesting, there are tons of hilarious and unexpected moments. If you're cool with an RPG with a lot of reading (trust me, it's *fun* reading) and sparse, unconventionally-done combat, pick it up. While there are flaws (probably the biggest one being a required skill check partway through the game that you can accidentally make near-impossible by dumping a specific stat - I had to save scum it after failing for hours straight. Not an issue for anyone with a reasonable build), Disco Elysium is, in my opinion, the best game of 2019, and potentially one of the best games of all time.

Wonderfully political, wonderfully introspective, wonderfully hilarious, and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ triumph for both the RPG genre and indie developers everywhere.

10/10, would blast Sad FM radio with Lieutenant Kitsuragi again.
Reflections - R.S. Thomas (1995)
The furies are at home
in the mirror; it is their address.
Even the clearest water,
if deep enough can drown.

Never think to surprise them.
Your face approaching ever
so friendly is the white flag
they ignore. There is no truce

with the furies. A mirror’s temperature
is always at zero. It is ice
in the veins. Its camera
is an X-ray. It is a chalice

held out to you in
silent communion, where gaspingly
you partake of a shifting
identity never your own.
