This game can be something great, I believe it has the potential to even rival monster hunter rise, but at its current state I cannot recommend it, I may have a 2060, which could be a part of the performance problem, but I have heard of people with 3080's and new cpu's and 64 gigs of ram and even they have had performance issues with the game, the game is practically unplayable at times, I play on the lowest settings and lock the game at 30 FPS but even that is a struggle for the game in of itself, It can lag when nothing is going on, it could also not lag the entire time I fight a monster, I could walk up to a monster and it will lag down to 10-15fps just for looking at it. While I am not the biggest fan of the story or the characters the game itself has charm the monsters, the weapons, the armor, they all look really cool and I really do believe it can compete with monster hunter at some point, but in its current state I can confidently say that the Nintendo switch can run Rise a lot better than a high performing PC can run Wild Hearts and that says a lot. If they would stop trying to add more content to the game and try and really focus on the performance issues at hand that has been reported many, many MANY TIMES, I really do think this game can be a gem.

After playing 17 more hours I have noticed there is an issue I am having where the game will crash everytime i do the earthbreaker mission... which means it is hard if not near impossible to get giant kemono gems, I have to grind the mighty goldshard, again and again and again and again which doesn't sound bad but its almost like monster hunter where you have like a 1% chance of getting it, no matter what part you broke or what you did differently, How in the hell a team like this put out update after update, adding more and more things into the game without even attempting to try and fix any and I mean ANY of the performance or crashing bugs, they will nerf the weapons or buff the weapons but god forbid anything is actually fixed, I was being nice with my first review I really was trying to be somewhat fair to this game I really was because I do believe if they fixed everything it really could rival monster hunter, but I cannot for the life of me think for a second that this company is giving it their all when all they do is add more, and more, and more, and more stuff to the game without fixing the glaring issue at hand. This is an abomination of community outreach and support, all they are doing is just trying to appease the 10% of people who have no issues running this game at 60fps and that is a rarity in of itself. They need to actually reach out to the community and listen to the complaints and try and figure out whats causing these issues but instead, with all the stuff they are adding its giving me more and more realization that they half baked this game, and are now patching it every other week with the stuff that WAS supposed to be in at launch but decided they needed to rush it out to appease the big daddy overlord that is EA, this is such a waste as it is right now, they don't listen to the community they only listen to the reviews that have a "yes i would recommend this game" attached to it otherwise they do nothing. They need to read the negative reviews.

The Dev's are so detached from the community that the only thing they give a crap about are the people that pay for VRChat+ with their recent update EAC is going to kill a lot of the community because many people use mods for QOL, also not to mention the amount of mods to counter certain mods like crashers that can cause epilepsy and also accessibility mods, and people that mentioned these mods IN THE OFFICIAL VRCHAT DISCORD got banned for mentioning the accessbility mods this is the absolute state of the VRChat dev team as long as they are getting money from stockbrokers people who are paying for VRChat+ and business deals they do not care about the community and certainly do not give a crap about their disabled portion of the community.

This game is a nice change of pace to the recent big PC games that have come out, this is a fantastic gem of a game, incredible graphics, incredible game-play and all in all its a really fun game, with the new content out it definitely is bigger and better than ever truly a classic that should be in everyone's library, hope you got a good graphics card and good amount of RAM this game eats that up but it makes up for it in excellent game play and really racks your brain to try and think of great strategy's

If you like medieval times and your wanting to hold a zweihander or even a longsword with a buckler, or take to the nexus page for this game and download outer rim a mod that adds lightsabers, custom waves and even maps. this game is really great I highly recommend picking this game up

This game is great i haven't played the first risk of rain my friend brought his computer over to my place and wanted me to try this game out and i instantly fell in love with it its an amazing game with a huge amount of RNG to it you could get a legendary item when you open the crate you might not who knows the possibility are endless and i'm excited to see how this game turns out in the future.

Early Access Review:

this game is/was fun really it was before the bugs started. Right now it definitely feels like your not getting your moneys worth your more or less paying for them to fix the problems that your experiencing and that's ok at least they can get the job done and get the funding necessary. Truly an amazing looking game but currently not in its current state however i would recommend getting it about 2-3 months later by then they should actually have these bugs fixed :D

one of the best fps's ever on pc, the gameplay is unique in its own way, and the co-op is the best part, worth all the time ive wasted playing this game
