This game probably has the absolute most soul out of the whole franchise. Upgrading armor completely changing a unit's model is something either of the Rome games could have made good use out of, reducing unit bloat and distinguishing early and standard legionaries by their meme armor upgrade, but instead it only exists here. You can play tall and have your patience rewarded with pikes and gunpowder, a military revolution on steroids compared to Marian's reforms, that actually allow a huge shift in composition and tactics, letting the late game overlap with empire. There's even secret content in the late game if you actually want to play that far.
There may very well never be another Total War like Medieval 2 ever again.

I can't stop thinking of this game as "scout, heavy, pyro, and engie stuck in a minecraft cave tormented by the L4D2 director" but that's what it is and it's fun.

Literally the only thing that made this worth picking up is that is that the sale deducted $5 from my purchase

At no point during this game did the usage of topics such as drug abuse, domestic abuse, and the hardships of parenthood come off as pretentious, a feat some indie developers struggle to accomplish. The story is excellent, with characters that one can easily invest themselves into.

The only bad part of this game is all of the limitations due to RPG maker. Awkward at first, easy to get use to.

Fun and intense as it progresses. A good way to waste 2 hours.

It's not Unity.

This game is great for people tired of playing games and wanting to work more.
