I'm very much a Borderlands nerd, I love coming up with silly builds that blow the game apart; this game scratches that same itch while still being its own unique beast. The huge variety in weapons, gear, and skills all come together to allow for an insane amount of customization in how you play. Heck, even if that isn't your thing, pretty much anything you pick up can be useful, simply trying out your shiny new loot is plenty fun and satisfying.

Every time I've come back to this game since I picked it up in 2016, it's only gotten better. Very much recommended.

An amazing Rougelike-Rhythem game that REALLY sucks all of your time away.

Not that that's a bad thing, this game is ADDICTIVE. The concept is really simple, move to the beat and don't die.

That being said, like any respectable rougelike, this game gets difficult quick. Not from some BS steep learning curve or complex control scheme, oh no, just making the player use every beat to the best potential or pay some price, such as missing out on some item or losing a ton of HP.

And while custom music is amazing, the OST is just soooo good...

A simple 2-D platformer with a steep difficulty curve at the end.

Controls can be a bit hard to get used to, as your double jump can only be used after a certain amount of time after your first jump. The graphics are quite nice, yet I can't make out what I (the player) am supposed to be. The store page says it's a thumb, so I'm gonna go with that. There is a small amount of story involved, most of which is in broken english (understandable, the creator is Russian after all). You can easily get all but 1 achievement just by playing the game to completion, the last will need to be searched for online (I'm guessing there's a hint somewhere, but probably in Russian).

Got this for 50 cents, thanks to a coupon. Not worth the $5 as of now, unless the upcoming update adds enough to the game. Still reccomending though, it was fun while it lasted.

The first boss is easily the hardest. Huh.

What? Only an hour at the time of writing? And no past experience? Surely this can't be an accurate review. Take of it what you will, but an hour was all I needed (and the 15 dollars to buy it.) .

Why?

DawnBringer's 32 color palette was the default palette. Considering the tiny amount of work I've done with a limited palette (no "dirty" brushes) has been with this palette, I felt at home with this program almost instantly (Disclaimer: You may not feel as comfortable as soon as you start it up like I did. Trust me, it won't take too long.) .

Ok, so the palette isn't the real reason I love it. You can set up your own anyways, just thought that was awesome.

Working with it is easy for any beginner pixel artists or anyone new to the program (like me), while still powerful enough for professional artists. The pixelated interface is a nice touch, too. Dunno why that one guy was complaining, a round/smooth GUI would look strange (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, some guy gave a negative review because the GUI was pixel art itself.) .

But what is (what I think) the one thing that makes this worth more than some free digital art program?

LAYERS AND ANIMATION FRAMES ARE SEPARATE! That makes both simple and complex animations FAR easier to make. It functions a bit like other animation programs out there (I've had a little experience in Adobe Flash). What does this mean, you might (or might not) be asking? You can edit an image in different layers (like Photoshop layers), then move on to the nexxt frame of animation, while keeping the layers of the image!

I already have a small project in mind to use this program for, too! I will take THESE[drive.google.com] (I made these back in an animation/image editing class. I used Photoshop for them...) and redo them (unposterize, if you will) while using the same 32 color palette.

Oh yeah, and you can make sprite sheets for games. I'll be using that one day.

TL;DR is good, 15 bucks is worth. very power.

Well, I finally finished the game, so I might as well review it. Kinda.

Now, before anything else, if you have doubts of buying this game, go download the free version. you can find that just by searching for Boson X and it should be right up at the top.

...You back? Ok.

If you still have doubt if you want to buy it, the extra levels add some interesting replayability. For starters, outside of the original 6 levels, the new levels aren't confined to 10 walls/floors, and have as low as 2. As for the replayability itself, it depends on if you like runners or not in general. If you do, great! 18 levels to test your endless runner skills. If not, and you've played the demo/free version, than it may not be for you.

...who am I kidding? Of course you want it!... unless you can't drop 3 bucks on it or HATE runners with a passion.

Get this game, slam your face into the walls a thousand times, and celebrate when you finally finish your first X Boson Level. Oh, don't forget to die on Geon for me, okay?

Nearly have 900 hours in this game. The first 100 were spent dying. The next few hundred were spent dying with a few kills thrown in there. Long story short, it's easy to play, but hard to master. But once you get it down, it is tons of fun, and can even be fun while you constantly die. The replay value goes way up when you see all the different game modes others have made. Whether you enjoy a huge "1 vs. all" fight like in FF2 or VSH, or you enjoy the silliness of Randomizer, be rest assured this game is not dying out. If you haven't downloaded it yet, either you don't have enough memory or you have a computer from the 1800's.

TL;DR TF2 is a free game, get it. No ragretz.
