Good fresh mechanics and animations Building system is fantastic, Graphics and environment details are very impressive. Can't recommend it because it barely has enough content to keep you engaged for more than 5 hours at this stage. Has alot of potential but for now its a very shallow experience. Best to buy it a year or two from now.

everybody keeps beating my ass

Everybody needs to play this game atleast once. The sense of wonder, adventure and fear combined is the best of any open world game I've played. It will trigger your thalassophobia repeatedly. From the surface it might just seem like swim around n craft sort of game but the story is a big surprise. Just buy it n play

The best damn game that exists on steam

This game really pisses me off.

Dying Light 1 was in my top 3 best video games i've ever played. I waited a long time for this game. To my disappointment this does not even deliver half of the quality of gameplay, story and feel of the original. The story and dialogues are absolutely ABYSMAL. They've used the most overused tropes to define each character paired with even worse dialogues, Even the main character you play as (Aiden) is one-dimensional buffoon with nothing interesting to say. The ending is the most underwhelming bossfight with black text for the ending. There's no way a professional writer was hired, if there was a writer, he should be asked to retire immediately.

Well with story out of the way, the gameplay and world is a massive downgrade, zombie physics have somehow gotten worse, there's been no innovation from the original. They ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up literally the best part of the series: the Night time, they somehow made it less scary and more annoying than the original. The volatiles dont roam around, if you choose you can just stay on the rooftops and not encounter a single threat during nighttime.

The weapon balancing is a joke, just upgrade your throwing knife and you can 3-shot volatiles throughout the entire game. The atmosphere in the game is made so unnecessary colorful n childlike, the beautiful cryptic scary atmosphere and feel of the original is all gone. BTW has anyone not noticed bloody trees growing on the top of each building.. how tf can a tree grow on a solid concrete roof?

Again other than the glider, there's literally no innovation, they kept zombies the same infact, they completely kept them hidden away since they are the furthest focus of this game and its story like ??? the story is just a bunch of stupid unlikeable characters w factions i don't care about fighting through cringey dialogue i can't even get myself to listen to without skipping.

FYI, they could've added a story around sentient intelligent volatiles and how they are born n ♥♥♥♥ or built off something from dying light 1. but nope, we have missions like finding Lawan's shoes.... no words.

To sum it up, don't buy this just replay dying light 1.

When Malala can survive an Ak bullet in the head but i can't survive the same ak bullet WHILE WEARING A LEVEL 2 HELMET IN THIS GAME

Game's so hard i can't even join my friend. 10/10
