A shadow of its former glory.

Trust me when I say that I had probably around 1000 hours on Overwatch. I got a digital copy of the Origins edition a few weeks after it launched and played it daily for hours on end. And it was great.

It was a very well made take on the MOBA and FPS genre, with a diverse and fun cast of characters to choose from and fairly elaborate maps, no two matches would ever feel the same.

Of course, it wasn’t perfect. Balancing issues, bugs, the toxic community, among other things, did make it feel like a chore to play sometimes. But it was still very much alright, more than enough to be well worth the price tag.

And the cinematics, the new map releases, the hero teasers, the events,… truly, with the way things were going, this supposed “TF2 killer” was rising its way up on the internet, every day selling more copies, getting more views on twitch and youtube, fan content on twitter, tumblr, facebook...

And then, things started to decline. Everything that made it great, was now becoming its hubris. Balancing patches upon balancing patches changed the meta in not very fun ways, some of the new heroes were either useless or busted, events became stale, and the releases of cinematics slowed down to a crawl.

The passion players had for the game gradually died down, and it didn’t help that many things that the devs promised never happened. And let’s not forget all the scandals inside Blizzard.

Finally, came Overwatch 2. And oh boy what a disappointment it was. The hero changes, smaller team size, battle pass, unlock system. There was no end to the absurdity of the situation. Have you ever seen players beg and plead for a lootbox system to be brought back? And worst of all, players like me, who paid more when they bought their copy of the game, didn’t even receive any form of bonus as compensation for the extra support way back then.

Overwatch 2 is not a spit on the face of Overwatch players, it’s an assault.

Also, it’s McCree. Not Cassidy.

the learning curve is a bit weird if not steep, even
but once you understand how the game functions, it's one of the best experiences you'll have out there

the only thing that annoys me is how in expert and master mode the game can get grindy, as you'll need better equipment in order to progress
but hey, if you play on those difficulties, you're probably not minding that anyways

I had been eyeing this game since its release, and now that I bought it, I can that it's worth the price. However, don’t expect much from it, considering that it’s Ironhide’s take on the RTS genre.

If I were to make some form of comparison, if StarCraft and Age of Empires are Coke and Pepsi, then Iron Marines is the weird tasting soda you get from fast food chains. The complex mechanics flavor is watered down, and then compensated by kicking up the sweetness with fun graphics and story.

The levels are nicely mapped out, the units do their job, and the enemies are fair to fight against – most of the time. And there’s just enough depth and nuance to make the player have to plan out their actions, although there’s some room for cheesing.

And sure, the game has some issues that most players wish to see them patched, but besides that, this is a nice little game to introduce someone to the RTS genre without feeling too overwhelming.

You can easily clock in 10-20 hours depending on how much investment you want to do, and even go beyond that if you’re an achievement hunter.

Again, worth the price if you want to out try the genre.

After multiple of their titles not doing very well, Fruitbat decided to release a new game that mashes characters from previous games into one big game. And what a game.

With mechanics similar to Mario Party and some card games out there, 100% Orange Juice is a multiplayer game where four players are put on a board, given a bunch of cards, and left to Lady Luck’s will as they hassle and tussle amongst each other until one reigns supreme.

The game has a lot of characters and cards to choose from, giving it plenty of replayability and ensuring that no two matches are ever the same. Some characters are all-rounders, while others focus on playing passively, and others will attack everything on sight.
And some are complete oddballs or niche picks reserved for the 200 IQ elite within the game.

The game features a story mode with multiple campaigns, but most players only play them in order to unlock in-game cosmetics or for bragging rights. You will find the majority of the player base in the online mode, which features the regular online mode, pitting 4 players against each other, co-op mode which pits everyone against one boss, and bounty mode, which is again another 1v1v1v1 but with a more RPG feel to it.

Last but not least, the game features very cute graphics and an incredibly well made soundtrack, with new content being added every few months.

In overall, it’s a very fun addition to your library if you enjoy party games.

Saints Row 3, but recycled in space[tvtropes.org].

The plot has been thrown out of the window to give an excuse for the player to own super powers and let all sorts of crazy sci-fi stuff happen.

In this game you'll barely get to use everything you've been accustomed with in the previous game: guns, cars, homies. The only time they are ever useful is during missions where you're restricted to them, and even then they feel like that they’ve been heavily downgraded.

The same mechanics and bugs are still there, but what takes the cake is how poorly optimized this game is. There's a lot of forum posts complaining about the game lagging or straight up freezing constantly, even in the most powerful computers.

Now, on matter of a more personal opinion, the minigames (which have pretty much replaced the missions) you can play are either a hit or miss. Some are very fun and will have you cross miles to do all of them, and others feel like chores due to poor game balance or oversights.

Although, it feels kinda nice to feel like a superhero and be able to take down hordes of enemies as if they were cannon fodder.

But, if I were to balance its good bits and bad bits, honestly it's not a bad game, but also not a great one either. Plus at least it's rather cheap considering how much you can get. Still, I don't recommend it that much.
