Get it. It may be a tad over priced, but I’ve only played the first 2 chapters and it’s amazing.

Gunplay is great, but it’s the world building and sound design that really sell it for me. I’ve never had an experience like HL:A, and that’s what it is.

While Boneworks utilizes way more physics and such, HL:A is not lacking in that department, although not everything can be lifted. Understandable, since this is a game designed for everyone and there’s enough happening for newcomers already. There isn’t really melee options, although you can fling and wack enemies with makeshift weapons. Boneworks does well for what it intends, so does HL:A.

Sorry if this seems like a scattered review, but if you get nothing else from my ramblings, know that HL:A places you in the post-Seven Hour War world of City 17, and it will make you believe every second of it. It is very much a Valve game, and I mean that in the highest regard possible.

Last thought: never thought Headcrabs were intimidating until they started jumping at my face.

I was surprised to see the amount of folks who were disappointed with this DLC. Honestly, it's a refreshing take on the "humans meet aliens" trope. The Arma series (even the original OFP) is all about realism, or approaching realism as close as possible. It's one of the hundreds of things I love about the game. Don't expect a sci-fi shoot 'em up: this ain't it, Chief.

This DLC is no different, managing to add a new take on an old formula in several different ways. The campaign is focused more on thinking and taking it all in, enjoying the ride and mystery as you go, watching how events unfold and the implications of the human reaction to an utterly alien encounter. Plenty of free roam and choice in sections, which is a big check for me. Plus, the non-ET parts of the DLC are awesome as well, in a vein similar to Laws of War.

I highly recommend picking up this DLC. If it was a tad cheaper, that'd be great, but when you factor in all of the free assets on top of all the goodies this one comes with, I understand that somehow BI has to pay the bills. I've been an Arma fanatic for almost 10 years, and Contact expands the Armaverse in many fantastic ways. The campaign is great, and I'm looking forward to making and playing new alien scenarios on the Workshop. It's a big yes from me!

And please, for the sake of humanity, don't shake the lightbulbs!

Great game. It has bugs, it's not perfect, and alot of folks just don't like it. I hear criticisms all the time about Fallout 4. The story's bad, the gameplay sucks, etc. I will admit it's more about the combat than the RPG.

And yet it's still a fantastic game. Massive open world, the ability to customize the crap out of your stuff, build your own settlements, Power Armor makes you feel like Iron Man, etc. I disagree with many people who say the game is garbage and isn't fun because I have spent waaaaaay too much time playing this thing. I'm not saying it's perfect as I mentioned before, and it is not. I'm just tired of all the unjust negativity that a minority of folks seem to enjoy spreading around. I wish people could enjoy the game as much as I do.

And don't get me started on the mods. There are soooooo many mods, you can do almost anything. Heck, if you delve into the Creation Kit you can make whatever you set your mind to. I highly recommend the game with the DLC. Get it on sale if you have to: some of the DLC should have been in the base game imo (but I highly doubt it's because Bethesda is a fat greedy cat that just wants your money). I think Bethesda really put their heart into this game. If you disagree on any of my points, that's ok. It's all subjective. But don't try to ruin it for the rest of us who love it.

Also, one final thing. If you think the Minutemen suck then you've missed the point. The reason they suck in the beginning is because it is your job to build them back up. They literally start like you, at the bottom with barely anything at all. I'm probably slightly biased but hey: who doesn't love freedom?

*SPOILERS* Basically all the other factions...

Fans of the series will love it. A bit grindy but it's free, and it's very fun to play. But rather than posting an in depth review as many people have already done, here's what would the Team Fortress 2 team would say if they tried making a Ghost in the Shell-esque weapon.

"Great news and OH MY GOSH THERE'S A SKELETON BEHIND YOU. Here, take this gun that we've modified. Well, actually we modified the rounds. You remember those ghosts hanging around that old farm? Well, we knew who to call. The police. Because trusting a bunch of nerds with oversized laser pointers isn't gonna help. Anyways, our highly trained and skilled scientists at Mann Co figured out a way to stuff these ghoulies into a round casing. For some reason, it works, so you can use it to kill other spectral species of special spookiness. We call it "Ghosts in the Clip". We get this weird tick when we try to say "Ghost" and "Shell" in the same sentence. Also, our lawyers look at us threateningly, so we couldn't call it that other name. But yeah, use it on that skele- and your dead. Probably should have given you the gun and let you use it before we explained it. Oh well. Hey, wanna become a bullet?"

Fun game to play, Valve pls give GITS gun. 10/10 would spook again

This is Valve's all-in-one movie studio for the Source engine that it has used for all of it's Source-related movies and trailers and such.

Everything a major movie company would need is here: animate, add lighting, sounds, change shots, importing custom assets, everything. This software is easily worth thousands of dollars for the time and technology it took to develop, no joke. And that's not over exagerating either.

And Valve is giving it to you for free. The only thing that may hamper your movie-making is the specs and your imagination.

So quit reading these reviews and hit that green download button up there.

No seriously, just do it.

So, you might be reading this trying to figure out whether or not you want to buy Half Life 2.

I got HL2 along with every other half life via a Steam Sale, and I can go ahead and tell you that Half Life 2 alone would be one of the best purchasing deals you'll ever make. Ever.

Set in the somewhat near future, Half Life 2 takes players to a polluted and desolate Earth infested with dangerous creatures and the ruthless Combine, an alien race bent on the complete domination of the universe. Fans of George Orwell's 1984 can relate to the dystopian state that players are first thrust into.

The gameplay is really excellent, sort of like a first person puzzler. In the middle of combat, players can utilize the environment, objects, and even other enemies to defeat foes. Strategic decisions are commonplace, and "environmental combat" is rewarded by gaining the advantage over the brainwashed minions of the Combine.

I could go on, but the game really does a good job of telling the story, so I'll just quit typing and let you make the choice: whether you want to play an awesome game jam-packed with an awesome story, mods, and an experience like no other.
