The gameplay demo for this was so misleading. The entire concept of linear missions (which is the only thing the demo consisted of btw and was marketing itself on) is basically gone from the game and replaced with only single room arenas.

The beatmaps feel sluggish with tons of blank space that wasn't even there in the demo version of the tracks that leaves you basically unable to play the game until you can fire your gun again.

Also for some reason you don't even need to time the gun play to the rhythm anyways. You can just hold down the shoot button and the guns fire regardless, basically removing the need for any rhythm from this rhythm game that fails to give you playable beats for like half of the songs.

Bys what happened? I was so excited for this, the demo was like 90% of the way there, the blueprint for this was written for years in stuff like BPM. Instead it feels like y'all just launched a pre-demo build of the game consisting of test room arenas and half finished beat maps. It's almost a slap in the face and outright lying to still have the gameplay trailer from the demo up on the store page.

EDIT: It's now been confirmed by the devs that development on the game is halted and they never even added the story mode that was promised in advertisements. Straight up a scam game.

A friend talked me into buying this in 2014, I haven't forgiven him yet.

I have never tried mods for this game before but as someone who still supports the concept of modding I can't stand behind this anymore.

Bought and returned it almost just as fast. In the five minutes I played 4 of them were spent browsing menus looking for the option to disable mouse smoothing. I have tolerated ports that have had smoothing before but it's inexcusable that this is something that wasn't in the Megaton edition port from years prior that you can no longer buy. How you managed to make a game less playable than its last version is beyond me.

Not often do I write a review however not often has a game given me such a blast of fun with gameplay, graphics, style, music and just everything. The game will start off challenging as all hell as you try to clunkly get the hang of jumping to different surfaces but once you do you'll never let go of the boost button making it a game of true skill. The community content for it is also extremely well done and extremely difficult but in the good way. Most of it is made by people who have the mentality of mastering the games mechanics so you'll have to do so also but once you do it is a game of pure bliss.
