Let me preface this review by saying I've been playing League of Legends since the beta. I have 762 hours as of this review in Dota 2. I've tried Smite. I've played Paragon. I've also played Heroes of the Storm. Needless to say I have been a HUGE fan of MOBA type games for an extremely long time. Also, I've never ever played BLC before, so I've got nothing to say about that.

I decided to write this review because I saw a lot of potential in this game. Anybody with a history of enjoyment from MOBA games with a competitive nature to them should pick this game up instantly. Ask yourself, what part of (Insert MOBA name here) is fun? If your answer is the team fights and the outplays that you can do, then this game is the game for you. I absolutely got burned out from playing 40+ minute MOBA games where it's a farmfest and the team fights don't happen until further on into the game.

Battlerite is literally that. It's essentially just duking it out with your opponents in an arena. In fact, this game is more of a MOBA than a game like League of Legends, because MOBA stands for Multiplayer-Online Battle Arena. You're literally fighting in an arena.

Not only is the game amazingly fun, it satisfies my competitive nature and if enough players play and money is invested, this game could definitely become a popular esport with a healthy economy surrounding it. The playerbase may seem small as of right now, but don't let that deter you from buying the game, because I can almost guarantee that once the game goes F2P in Q1 of next year, the game will explode in popularity. Buying it now gives you all the future champions for free and you even get to play such an amazing game.

Lord of the Rings.

More like generic fantasy hack and slash.

Save your money. Buy a used PS2 and get the Lord of the Rings games on that.

This game looks like it was made by a 3rd grader. Super buggy. Awful controls. No sprint. Spear doesn't even work. Zombies run but apparently I am faster than them. The tree textures look like my poop that I took this morning.

To start off, I just wanted to state that I am NOT a fan of tower defense type games. I find them repetitive, grindy, bland, and not innovative.

BUT, Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten is a true gem in the tower defense genre. It combines the elements of a tower defense game along with rpg elements, which gives the game a surprisingly fun twist. Instead of just placing troops that do not have meaning around, I was able to level up my characters and as I progressed I learned their stories.

Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten is not only a tower defense game, it has a story, unlike many games of the same genre. The story was nothing special, but there was a story nonetheless.

If you're an achievement hunter (♥♥♥♥♥) like I am, then you'll be disappointed because a few of the achievements are a bit grindy. On the other hand, the developers were nice enough to allow you to go into the Options and increase exp and gold gain by 300%. I cannot stress enough how this option is amazing and that I think more devs should implement it, because of how grindy some achievements are. This also makes the game a little bit more on the easier side. I hardly ever lost a round. I can count on both hands how many times I've lost.

The game is very simple, I was able to beat the base game without generic recruits. I did recruit the generic characters in order to obtain all the gold stars/side quests. The UI is also very simple. Skill trees are simple. Everything about this game is very simple, easy to learn, and relaxing.

If you're looking for a casual game, then I'd definitely recommend this game. A lot of times, I find myself on this game when I am watching tv or a movie.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten. It's a true gem of it's genre and should not be dismissed so easily, just because it's a casual tower defense game.

There really aren't any words to describe Spelunky except that it is amazing.

Spelunky is a rogue-like platformer where you have to get to the end of the game, but at the same time collect gold, jewels, and gems to score a higher score. Which leads into the leaderboards. With the leaderboards, the game lets you have a friendly competition with your friends, because everyone can compare their high scores. (There's even local coop!)

There's plenty of replayability in the game, as no level is ever the same. The randomized levels paired up with the different challenges that persist in each level extends the replayability even more. Your choices can have a large impact on your survival as well; Damsel is in the wall? Should you use your last bomb to free her? Maybe you should use the bomb to get rid of those pesky snakes first... Different choices can be life and death for you!

I can definitely say that I'm in love with the game. I've played it once on the XBLA and thought nothing of it, but now that I really got into it, I've fallen in love. From the arrow traps, to the annoying bats, the game has a very charming feel. Even the art is adorable. All in all, the game is very original and not just another platformer game.

The gameplay mechanics are very smooth. I cannot see anyone putting this game down in the near future. It's just that fun. Why are you still reading this? Go purchase Spelunky now!

Happy Spelunking!

With the many platformers and puzzle games constantly being released, The Bridge changes up the puzzle genre with an extremely unique take on puzzles. This game forces the player to view the game in different ways. The mind-bending puzzles has the player's reevaluate the preconceptions they've had on physics and perspective of the world.

"It is Isaac Newton meets M.C. Escher."

The puzzles consist of one or many intricate architectures where the player has to manipulate gravity to complete the levels. The levels of the puzzles gradually increase, leaving a sense of accomplishment after completing them. The beginning puzzles start out extremely easy, letting the player finish in a minute or two, but the puzzles towards the end can leave a player stump for days unless they look up a guide or have someone else look at the puzzle (a different set of eyes can look at the puzzle at a different angle).

Not only is The Bridge a highly intellectual game, the artwork is something to behold. Many art enthusiasts would enjoy the game, simply for the art. The art style is hand drawn black-and-white lithograph. At first glance, the art did not appeal to me, but after completing the game 100%, I saw how beautiful something so simple can be.

With all that said, I dare you, reader, to complete this game 100%. The puzzles can leave you weary and your brain hurting, but the sense of accomplishment is well worth it.
