If you're a fan of history or alternate history you may find this game quite the interesting choice. Just be prepared for some gameplay concessions if you do not own the rather expensive DLCs.

This game can be fun, but you'll more likely find frustration rather than enjoyment, with server issues and bugs plagueing the game. I do understand that this is early access, but the developers have shown their lack of integrity by rescinding on their promise to delay the implementation of microtransactions until full release. Whilst others complain about lack of in game content such as weapons/vehicles/maps, I hope that the developers focus their efforts on bugfixing rather than adding more guns and the like.

UPDATE AFTER EARLY ACCESS: It's worse now. Take away a few server issues and add in one hundredfold of hackers. Devs only have dollar signs in their sights and will not care about the community whatsoever. This game is truly lost.

Early Access Review
Let this game serve as a warning for those wishing to invest rashly into early access games.

Gorgeous visuals combined with the thrill of the storyline creates an experience unrivaled by any other I have experienced. The environments are expansive and each has a distinct aesthetic and atmosphere, changing up gameplay vibes as the player moves from one area to another.

Game mechanics (shooting, movement) are simple and intuitive, albeit somewhat clunky at times, although this effect is negligible. The freedom of action the player has extends the playability of the game, providing many objectives for the player to accomplish, such as optional exploration and tomb raiding, relic hunting, and more. The nature of combat varies greatly, and many scenarios allow the player to dictate the pace of combat through careful, stealthy options, or a loud and destructive option.

I wholly recommend this game.

CS:GO Review
A worthy successsor to previous Counter-Strike games which provides a fresh and much improved aesthetic over previous iterations. The game has also addressed issues and changed mechanics seen in previous games to better improve the competitive integrity of the game or to improve the accessibility of the game to more casual players.

The tense gameplay never gets old, and a wealth of community gamemodes and workshop content will satisfy for the moments where you don't feel like playing in competitive environments.

I have little experience with Paradox and HOI, and this is my first 'grand strategy'.

Now with context established, I'll attempt a review.

I am quite interested in (war) history, and this game has appealed greatly to my interests, and, although I'm told the game is very complex, I managed to learn how to play within a few hours of playing around. Although the game seems chock full of features, I would say that it lacks a lot of variation with unique focuses that nations can undertake. I'm sure that Paradox will address this, but for now, only the majors and few minor nations have unique focus trees, with the many remaining nations sharing the same generic tree. I have also been told that the game is dumbed down, but for a first timer like me, it could very well be the springboard into more complex Paradox titles in the future.

Overall, the game is very impressive and entertaining, although performance in the late game falls off (this may have been addressed in the first hotfix). I will have no problem playing this game for at least another hundred hours.

It is such a SHAME that the developers have let the community and the game down with their decisions.

Pretty game with plentiful atmosphere which will immerse you into the apocalypse. Only gripe is the game lacks players, which can be avoided by playing with friends in various game modes that are quite fun. Game modes are somewhat lacking, although they are well made, with more maps etc to come, especially with workshop.

It's as simple as this:

Buys, bought, will buy.

Plays, played, will play.

Loves, loved, will love.
