FINISH THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME.

Great narrative idea but plays like a dog.

This game is a terrific throwback to the taut and (sometimes) clunky shooters of the past. The campaign is generous and engaging - you get one for each race. The visuals are functional but can look pretty nice if you turn everything up to max. There is a huge amount of backstory to uncover through logs and such. The sound is terrific - I'm pretty sure the pulse rifle effect is taken directly from Aliens.

Overall it's not quite as tense and terrifying as the original PC AVP but the variety of locations you get to explore more than makes up for it - you pretty much cover the whole planet. For a tenner I would definitely recommend it if you're a fan of the films or of tightly-made, traditional FPSs. Also it's a refreshing change to play a shooter that doesn't have ironisghts these days!
