At last a good AAA game, that's just fun with active and friendly devs. However, even though the PSN requirement was dropped for some countries, the ones that cannot have PSN account, now cannot play at all. Screw Sony.

I've played my fair share of rogue-lite games but holy molly this one is sooo much fun. I've spent most of my weekend just grinding this game and the hours just flew past without me even noticing because I was just so into getting to the next level, getting that new gun, finding out what the next boss is. And even though I beat the last boss on Hard difficulty and having unlocked all camp upgrades I am still playing! Shooting robots is just that much fun.

Bolter goes *pew* *pew*, heretics go *poof* *poof*, red mist covers me. FUN.

In all seriousness, this game is great at portaring what it would be to live through a "small" chaos incursion on a Hive World. You are a nobody, a criminal who was given a gun, bit of ammo and a melee weapon. You're tasked by completing missions that help to stop the mentined Chaos tide. You are expendable. In other WH40k games you are the hero, commanding armies, saving worlds. Here you are trying to stay alive and make yourself useful/less expendable under the ever watchful eyes of Emperor of Mankind.

Darktide did have some issues at launch, but now it is a solid addition to the few good games in WH40k universe.

This game feels like a lot of love and thought was put into it. The story, planets, exploration, combat (on higher difficulty), dialogues and all the MANY other side things to do are all awesome. It feels like a game made by and for Star Wars fans. As a huge fan myself I find myself smilling or thinking how cool parts of the game are. In some places I even got chills thanks to the music or piece of a dialogue. Jedi Survivor has a GOTY potential in my opinion.

HOWEVER. The state in which the game was released is inexcusable. 70 buckos/euros for a game that cannot run on high end PC's? Even after two patches my 3060 runs 40fps on MEDIUM in the open world area.

I would recommend the game to any Star Wars fan, or anybody who likes the Souls (kinda) style of combat. But do yourself a favour and wait a few months when the optimization is better. Or buy on sale.

This is how Warhammer 40k games should look like. What a blast to play!
