Everything about this game, from the gameplay mechanics to the way they handle live service, stands as a testament to what other games these days should be like. The developers choosing to side with the community over that whole PSN controversy is the cherry on top, which ultimately saved this game from an otherwise doomed fate. I hope we can bring that review score back up where it belongs now that things worked out in our favor and I look forward to more updates.

I had a blast with the game overall. But the fun was not meant to last thanks to the corrupt overseers of the multiplayer servers, BF4DB. Trust me when I say that these guys will ban you over the most ridiculous reasons.

I had just upgraded my PC, which greatly improved the game's performance and allowed me to actually get consistent kills without suffering constant frame drops and crashes. I suddenly went from averaging 10 kills per game to well over 50, often even being at the top of the scoreboard. Life was good. Until the jackasses at BF4DB hit me with a ban under the baseless accusation that I was using an aim bot. I don't even know how to use an aim bot or where to get one! The only evidence they had to show was my player stats, which showed that my average kills skyrocketed on, you guessed it, the day I upgraded my PC. I tried to make my appeal and explain the misunderstanding, but they wouldn't listen to me. Needlessly to say, I am now banned from literally every server in the game. Permanently. All because I got good and some neck-bearded virgin had a problem with that.

Moral of the story is if you're naturally good at first person shooters, be careful with this one. It seems they don't tolerate skill and have a firm "no fun" policy.

Remember when they said that the battle pass was a one time payment? So that was a lie. We now have to pay for another battle pass just to play season 2. So armor and progression is still locked behind a paywall. I was really hoping that 343 would listen to the complaints and correct upon a lot of the mistakes they made with this game, but it seems they haven't learned a damn thing. That's just the last straw. I'm done with this game. I love Halo, but this is not Halo.
