From humble beginnings as a mod to a fully fledged game, that in my opinion is worth way more than most of today's AAA $60 dollar games.
I first found out about the Black mesa mod through a gaming magazine that came with a demo of the game before the Zen update that finally completed the game. Boy am I glad I bought that magazine because Black mesa is a fantastic and engrossing experience to play through. Everything in the game just feels right from the guns, enemies and gameplay to the banger of a soundtrack that Joel nielsen composed. 10/10 all across the board.
