A cohesive single player game experience without always online, store microtransactions and an endless loot boxer grinder?
GOTY!!!
Jokes aside, it's a game primarily made for Robocop fans for sure.
But I think newcomers to the series can appreciate the story presented and even get interested enough to watch the movies.
In the context of a AA company game, the game is perfect.
Through a reviewer lens, sure is there room to b*tch about. But I lack the patience to complain about the game in this analysis.
The game treated me well, a complete experience with a beginning, a middle, and an end, so I have a good opinion on this game and I can overlook and not bother with the typical flaws of a euro jank passion project (the good kind).

Early Access Review
This seems to really be the SWAT successor we always wanted, I think the developers have that game in mind as a model for what they have done here. The core gameplay and overall feel seems to be there.

But this game is yet to be finished in my opinion, there are still some issues that I feel that might ruin the experience a bit, and the more you play the more you start to feel frustrated, although we can argue that this is still in development and the developers will surely improve soon:

It's the enemies animations, sometimes feel like they do not match to what they are really doing. I feel like this happens constantly in the game, you might see an enemy with his back turn on you, you shout at them to yield, and they can 180º turn and kill you in an unfair reflex. Other times you see their arms holding the gun in a relax position, only for them to spot you and kill you so fast that feels like a cheap shot, and this is a game where we are supposed to read the enemies animations on the fly to ascertain if they are a threat or not.

A much more natural movement and reflexes from the enemies of what we have now are crucial for a game like this to shine, I would say some hesitation from enemies or them getting nervous and getting clumsy for example.

But either way, with friends or alone, fans of the genre will no doubt have their need of tactical shooter "relieved".

Although this game's setting is trying to captivate the majority of players by trying to capitalize on AOE2 formula by "going" to the middle ages again, this game really brings new things and mechanics to the table, although there are safe choices with mechanics we already saw in other games of the genre.
All around is a very polished and optimized game and pushes the franchise foward.

I know ultimately this game flew under the radar of most gamers when It was released but I deem this a necessary experience. If not for the heavy plot story the gameplay is actually very addicting because of the vicious fights and highly destructible environments.
There are at least two songs that will definitely mark your experinece with this game.
Great unforgettable moments.

Original Release Review:
As a huge fan of the original game and comics.
I am disappointed, the taste this leaves is like they released the wrong build by mistake.

This feels like the early janky alpha of postal 4, no joke :D

There are good improvements that we can notice the devs made in terms of new collectibles, kinda of new areas to explore, new cinematic transactions between levels, rework of Jones character model to look more like the comic book counterpart.
I actually enjoy the graphics and the first person reloading animations, if you empty your magazine there are cool animations of the character inspecting the empty gun and the finger going "click click click" (but you have to disable auto-reload on options).
So they really meant to improve this game, but their lack of execution or their professionalism is an elephant in a room.

Hideous things we are completly surrounded of:
- Low frame ragdolls.
- Missing sound effects (sometimes reloading does not have sound).
- Terrible screen tearing.
- Shooting only recoils upwards (in straight line).
- Weapons do not have the same powerfull kick like the original.
- Switching weapons between animations makes the game select the first one.
- Bad bullet decals on surfaces.
- Music does not start or end at the correct places (also very low)
- If you enter and leave water we cannot select weapon leaving us disarmed and with swimming animations on the arms.
- No lan/internet multiplayer
- Poor AI, sometimes just stand frozen still, It's also very basic like the original they just rush to you.

I did the pre-orderer and I'm very sad about it, I hope the developers keep improving and salvage what they can on this remake.

After Tower Five Review
At least it was improved enough to make me have the courage to beat the game finally.
The improvements are many and surprisingly even, it feels like a game now, but we are comparing it to an abhorrent release so bad we might mistake this to be better than it actually is, because honestly the updates are still not enough to make my recommendation to be positive.
I know we need to show support if we want this product to be the best it can be, they are on the right track but even so it is full of bugs and cleary there is still a long road to go.

Things that still need improvement:
- The online multiplayer is terribly basic, we do not have a lobby or a invite system, it just tries to connect to random people, but since no one plays this I still haven't managed to try it out. (I already waited 10 min in one sitting)
- Multiplayer lacks content, it only has 3 maps and no character model selection. At least give us steam workshop support so people can create maps.
- Crossbow and RPG sometimes do not fire, only after we manually restart the level.
- On the "submarine" levels they did not included the underwater enemies, so the harpoon gun does not have a proper use.
- While dual wielding pistols or the uzis, the left gun animation is shown as if the magazine is empty with the slide pulled all the way back, only after a manual reload the animation gets fixed.
- When reloading the shotgun, sometimes the sound does not match with the sliding pumping action, we hear the "chuck chuck" much earlier than it should.
- When we get to the end of a level, if there is not a scripted sequence, the level just ends abruptly.
- The game does not have a death animation, when life gets to zero it's a instant game stop, feels so weird.
- The game does not show clearly when life is under 20%, this is when our life can regenerate if is below 20 and it regenerates to 20 only, but below this threshold we should have some kind of visual aid, like the borders of the screen being red or showing a death skull or something.
- Sound balancing is all over the place, sometimes we do not have music and other times the grunts of jumping or damage taken is much louder than it should.
- SPOILER: The Moongose last boss fight on the original game, falls to his death before we have a chance to verify if he is number I, the game prompt us to check his neck before he tumbles over a railing, on the new remake he just dies flat, no prompt to check the neck no nothing, he just plain is not number I

If you into Age of Empires 2 this is definitely for you. This version patches up most of the interface and accessibility problems the "vanilla" and "HD" had, modernizes some features that now are taken for granted (like proper key bindings, zoom, global queues), plus some tweaks here and there in terms of civilization balance to spice up the game even more.
Unfortunately this could use steam workshop but at least the mutiplayer has steamworks integration.
If you are new to the genre or new to Age 2 you can start right here on this version, it's safe and pretty looking.

This is my favourite Age of Empires. Many people point the major differences of this Age as a lack of identity, but in my opinion is what gives this game the charm.
All nations of this game play very differently, with the biggest differences lying between the europeans, american indians and asians.
There are a lot of references from various "non-playable" cultures and nations throughout this game, via native alliances or shipments frrom our homecity.
Visually still holds up very well.
Please do try this game if you enjoy RTS :D

This first Killing Floor was kept feeded with updates for about 5 years, from 2009 to 2014's "End of the Line" update.
Now KF2 is now 3 years old and it already surpassed KF1 in terms of hard content:
- KF1 had: 26 official maps, 49 weapons, 7 perks, 9 specimens and 1 boss.
- KF2 has: 23 official maps, 68 weapons, 10 grenade variations, 10 perks, 14 specimens and 4 bosses. (at the time of review)
Besides it has more variety in terms of game modes with weekly rotation mutations and a pvp option.
So if you enjoy the first one there is no reason to do not enjoy this one.
The only think that is missing is an proper story mode, they were teasing it near the end of KF1 but abandoned the idea meawhile as there was no proper follow up to the events on the "End of the Line" update of KF1, but since this a heavy co-op experience there is no big harm in it.
This is a game that has an interesting learn curve and the perk system always kept it interesting, because when you have a team playing the correct roles with their chosen perks and combining it for a specific map, it's when you feel rewarded and a great joy to play.

In my opinion in the best Reboot/Comeback of a Franchise. Very well made and very well adapted with simple stealth optional segments (although the best approach if played in the hardest difficulty).
What really shines is the investement in the story and characters.
The optimization is good enouth, idtech 5 runs well in nowadays computers with no big issues.

Original game is a landmark and a must play for gamers interested in the build engine but the steam version was released without proper optimization and configuration of dosbox, I had to gather information with other steam users so I could had a "acceptable" performance.
The worst part is that some content is missing, for example audio tracks and a entire expansion, "redneck rides again", which is shown in various thumbnail pictures and is missing in the final product that is fraudulent and criminal.
