I cannot recommend the game in this state.

As far as the actual game goes - there's so much that this game does right. It's a blast to play.
- The music is wonderful, bringing a really gritty and enjoyable backdrop to every heist.
- The gunplay feels tight and responsive, with each gun feeling like it packs a punch - unlike some guns in PD2 where it felt more like a toy gun than an actual firearm.
- The gameplay loop is enjoyable and makes me want to come back for more, and keep pushing for that next unlockable weapon or skill.
- The characters and voice acting carry the torch from previous games well, and the new characters feel like a good mesh between all the existing characters.

But none of that at this moment makes up for the fact that I can't even play the game.

Putting aside minor gripes (XP only from challenges, the entire C-Stack system, etc.), I don't understand why they decided to cut out a functional solo option for gameplay. I don't understand why always-online was so forced, especially after removing Denuvo from the game. And I don't understand how this occurred despite a server test beforehand meant specifically to help prevent this.

I adore the Payday franchise, and PAYDAY 2 is one of my favourite games of all time - clocking almost a thousand hours in it. I did all the DSOD heists before launch just for the charm in PAYDAY 3. But, this entire fiasco has just made me lose faith in the game as well as the drive to play it. (And the fact that micro-transactions are on the way really doesn't fill me with hope.)

If they pull a 'No Mans Sky' and remove the always online, add a lot of sustained, good content and genuinely show an attempt to rectify the issues and fix the broken trust between the consumer and them - then I very much look forward to it.

But this? This is just unacceptable. I would refund it right now if I could, so I can come back IF they fix their mistakes.

Fantastic TD game with a bunch of unique towers, a fun single player campaign and some actual challenge.
Even better with friends or if you want to compete with other people online. (Plus there's cosmetics and all that if you really wanna flex.)

Highly recommended.

I love the game and it's usually 'mostly' bug free but, this DLC and it's launch are a mess.

At the time of writing, there's more bugs on the live version than there were on the PTB, with the new killer being borderline unplayable due to them getting stuck in the ground sometimes after being deploying Victor, some of the promised changes and features not even being implemented pre-release, visual bugs galore, etc.

On top of this, some of the perks straight up do not work (Hoarder) and it's even somehow spread over to other killers. Billy's chainsaw overheating without even using it, Legion's power not working properly (no speed increase), Demo being locked at Shred speed after being stunned mid dash, and even more.

The killer seems alright and the teachables are interesting but good lord, this is worse than the Legion DLC launch. It's absolutely broken and an actual downgrade for players without even buying the DLC.

The epitome of short but sweet. Doesn't take long to beat but the set of secrets and challenges will keep you entertained way past the initial 3~ hours of story playtime.

Not exactly the best in terms of 'bang for your buck' but the unique playstyle, story and aesthetics make this worth a pick up.
(Probably worth waiting for a sale, however.)

People either hate this game with a burning passion or revere it to an unhealthy level.

I highly reccomend Undertale, and my advice is to buy the game, and play it for yourself, sight unseen. Ignore anybody who tells you to "Do a ____ run of the game" or "Go to ___ and collect this item". Just play it for yourself and form your own opinion.
