Sony, I thought we made this clear now more than ever.

We dive together, or not at all.

Given Blizzard is determined to torch everything to the ground in terms of player retention and good will when it comes to the Overwatch intellectual property in these past years, I thought about this game for the first time in forever and figured,

"Well, heck, if this is what Overwatch 2 looks like...I wonder how Paladins has been holding up. Surely better than this."

And, well...yeah!

If anything, Overwatch 2 and it's foibles are inadvertently a fantastic advertisement for Paladins. If you're on the fence about it, come and play! It's pretty fun!

When you get a lot of bad runs in a day, you stop playing for weeks.

When you get a lot of good runs in a day, you don't stop playing for weeks.

- Probably some Bible verse, I dunno.

I used to sleep like real people.

I don't anymore.

Good game though, I do recommend.

It's another Yakuza game, of course I recommend it...

Writing this fresh after finishing the main story...I'm not sure how to put it into words.

Yakuza 0, in the simplest sentence I can muster is one where if the admittedly not very complex game play doesn't do much to rope you in, it's the narrative with strong and complex characters that will.

And I love both.

I haven't spent much time with this game, but from what I've played with friends, It's fun.

It's akin to a gritty dark fantasy Left 4 Dead, and the feelings of ripping through the hoards of vermin with Longswords, bashing skulls in with Warhammers, and even pelting things with arrows are all enjoyable. The bosses are bullet sponges, but not terribly hard after learning how they operate. Unlike Left 4 Dead, be sure to note that the different playable characters have different abilities and weapons to hack, slash, and shoot at things.

It is challenging the first time around and it requires some tactics and resource management to be successful, but if you have enough wits, you have enough power to see the missions through for the spoils. Higher difficulties double down on these skills, so it's best to learn these skills early on if you aren't already accustomed to them from other games.

I have heard that getting the best things is a grind, so be wary if you intend to explore the deepest facets of this slaughterfest that the best loot is not easily earned, with only the best chances earned through tricky collectable tomes and Grimoires that add onto the difficulty. There are guides out there that can explain things in more detail if you're interested.

All in all, it's a good horde-smashing game that I'd recommend for anybody wanting to scratch that Left 4 Dead itch. I'd personally say that it's better with friends, but you may find joy playing with randos too.

You know you're into a game when you manage to play it until it's 5 in the morning.

Jesus Christ.
