From the makers of Rabi-Ribi comes another Metroidvania Tevi. Tevi shares many similarities with Rabi, like its fast-paced bullet-hell combat, intricate and varied maps, and endearing characters. You can customize your fighting style, up to a point, by adding sigils that can change your moves, add attacks to combos, or just straight-up transform that attack.

I loved Rabi-Ribi, and I love this game almost as much. My main gripe is the story. It's an absolute mess. Things get thrown around in the late game, around chapter 6, with no foreshadowing. New plot-relevant characters show up out of nowhere near the end. Several times, Tevi shows you flashbacks to other characters lives, memories you couldn't have known about, so you could follow their motivations. A method that I think is very forced.

If you're craving more Metroidvania with awesome combat and beautiful art design, then I highly recommend Tevi. Just turn off your brain when it comes to its senseless storytelling.

I don't know how to put into words just how good this game is. If you like games such as Diablo 2, Path of Exile, and others of the genre then you have to play this.

The game is a complete disaster. The plot and characters are incredibly dull, and the action is boring. The game crashes frequently, making it difficult to enjoy.

I normally dislike JRPGs. They tend to drag on for way too long, the dialogue is often asinine, and I rarely warm up to characters.
This is why I was surprised by how much I've come to like Ys VIII.
The world is large but not to the point where it's a bother to travel. The dialogue and character interactions are okay for the most part. Some cliches that are a staple of the genre are present. There are also fluffy moments. Many JRPGs tend to repeat information that the player already knows multiple times, and while Ys VIII is also guilty of this, it is to a much lesser degree than other games from the genre I've played.
The combat is rather simplistic and can get dull after a while, the game is around thirty hours long, especially after the halfway point where you have all the skills.
But despite its flaws, Ys VIII has a good story and endearing characters, enjoyable combat, and an island with a few biomes to explore.
Do recommend.

Not as good as the previous game. This one is a tad too long plus it feels like the universe chose to kick Amicia and Hugo especially hard just because. Nevertheless, the game is fun, there's drama and challenges. Do recommend.

This is so dumb. It shouldn't be so fun but it just is.

'Where was that thing I saw back then?!' That was what went through my head most of the time, with no way to find things and places other than memorizing everything I got lost often enough for the game to become exceptionally frustrating.
