A medium sized dark roast coffee with 2 milk and 1 sugar costs more than this game, and unlike the fools which constantly get your order wrong, this game does not do that. What does a coffee have to do with this game? Nothing, and this game is quite fun, unlike going another round at the drive-thru cause they got my coffee wrong the first time.

I ain't even got to finish this game to know how brilliant it has been, so far. Without question, the absolute best ♥♥♥♥♥♥' Build Engine game ever created. Voidpoint, you brilliant bastards. GG 3D Realms.

EDIT: So, after a few hours I'd say its time to give something more than just "Holy balls, this game rocks"

+ By far the most impressive Build Engine game ever released (EDuke32)
+ Gameplay = Mwah! Perfection
+ Bombshell is pretty badass
+ The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ secrets, references, callbacks
+ The Loverboy is legit fun
+ Giblets in all its Build Engine glory
+ Level designs

- Weapons arsenal, nothing too crazy. Gets the job done, though would've been pretty damn cool for some experimentation
- Those damn spider head bots, man.. Damn you
- Performance hiccups during boss encounters

The one good game from Ubisoft where they've neglected so many issues that should've been fixed ages ago, yet we continue to play because this is the best option for a 5v5 Competitive TACTICOOL FPS.

Ever had that one game that was pretty bad, yet played it anyway because under all the BS there was this diamond.. buried.. under heaps of crap? SIEGE is that diamond.

Supreme Commander and Sins of A Solar Empire have a baby, and the result is Ashes of the Singularity. What a title.

Ashes is an RTS that consists of massive scale battles on several maps, that vary in size, and up to 6 players (With it being extended to 12) These maps take place on several types of planets, and majority of them are designed extremely well. The object of the game is simple: Mass an army of hundreds of units, potentially thousands, and go wreak havoc upon your enemies. Does the game require strategy? Yes, to a certain degree, although that could be improved.

You could say the game is basic in It's approach, and it is, but It's extremely fun.

There are currently two Factions, with a third incoming. PHC = Pro-Human Coalition. Substrate = Sentient A.I.

Each of these two factions play very differently from each other, with unique unit/structure designs to their own. While slightly generic, they each have some cool units that do standout, including my personal favourite ZUES for the PHC which shoots out a lightning arc, covering a wide area in front of it.

Each factions has the following number of Units/Structures. PHC = 4 Frigates, 4 Cruisers, 3 Aircraft and 3 Dreadnaughts. 4 main unit structures that don't require any sort of Tier upgrades. Substrate consist of the same amount of units, but they play differently to PHC, with their own set of structures and requirements.

The game also has several defenses for both factions. Smarties, which are rocket batteries and target light air units and ground units. Sensor Arrays, Anti-Air, Drone Bays, Repair Bay and Turrets, which are effective towards Dreadnaughts.

A total of 6 Orbitals, each of them completely different. You have Incursion Orbitals, consistent drop of turrets, Amplifiers, EMP, Jammers/Nullifiers (Which disable the use of Orbtials) and the Orbital Strike.

Support Abilities being a total of 4, and 5 Offensive Abilities. The game also has upgrades that increase unit damage, unit health and also resource management, such as increasing total unit count, Metal and Radioactives.

Each faction employs different strategies, and while there is currently only two, both are fun to play, and the third should be no different.

Now onto the PROS and CONS for Ashes of the Singularity (In My Own Personal Opinion)

PROS:

+ Two Factions that plays different from each other.
+ Some of the best A.I I've come to experience from an RTS game (It simply doesn't "Cheat" and that's wonderful)
+ Good unit designs, especially for the Dreadnaughts.
+ Great number of maps, ranging from Tiny, Small, Medium and Large, and majority of them are very well designed.
+ The OST, while limited, is composed very well. The music gives the game this surreal and serene feeling, and somewhat haunting to a degree.
+ Impressive technology from the Nitrous Engine.
+ Surprisingly plays quite well on my 2500k, 270x w/ 8GB RAM. (Pretty damn well optimized) Mix of High/Medium settings.
+ Decent sound effects.

CONS:

- Lack of any Voice Over in-game for text.
- Limited amount of sound cues for units. Could use more variety in the sound overall.
- Lack of any substantial campaign, and while this isn't much of an issue for me, personally, It's fair to point out that the game currently lacks such a feature, much like Sins of A Solar Empire. This will be improved in time.
- Lacks an assortment of Game Modes, and while the game does feature SCENARIOS, such as King of the Hill, the game mainly plays out like a CAPTURE & HOLD / Annihilation.
- Needs more units, and a much larger END-GAME that consists of progression towards an Ultimate Unit, such as a TITAN or EXPERIMENTALS.

(The Developers are doing an excellent job at taking feedback, suggestions and responding to the community. The game has an extensive ROADMAP and I highly recommend anyone check it out before purchasing. Ashes of the Singularity, It's a pretty damn good RTS)

Early Access Review
It's so good, and nobody plays online! Amazing!

Yes, It's difficult to get into a game with anyone actually populating servers, but this is intended, somewhat.

The games still in a phase where getting balance, feedback and testing is more important than marketing the game in it's current state.

The sad part of all this is that the game is currently in a state where It's absolutely playable, enjoyable, but lacks any online fragging. It's been in EARLY ACCESS for quite a long time now, and yes, I do have more than 6 hours of playtime.

It should be coming to a close, and hopfully Reakktor can market this game out so we can finally get some fragging going up against actual players. (And with stable server connectivity)

So, question you must want an answer to, and that must be "Are the BOTS any good?" Yes, they are, and It's still fun to go off SOLO.

This literally is an ARENA FPS, and while it doesn't do anything that revolutionizes the genre, it does great in what the team set out to do with TOXIKK, and that's to transport us back to 1999 (More like 2003) with better graphics.
