Lovecraft Setting + Deep Turn-based RPG filled with synergy, stress/insanity mechanics + Wayne June Narrating + Mods to add in more content ala tons of more lovingly made characters/classes to find even more synergy oppertunities.

= Opulent and Imperial.

There are a few unsmoothly timed animations (collisions and moving through doors) but that won't get in the way of this daring attempt of something the entire video game industry was afraid to do. Actually REMAKE a game without changing any of the important details and actually just REMAKE it.

If you have played the 18 year old classic, you need to play this as it is everything done right if the game was going to be made again for the new generation, which, coincidentally, this is! This one's worth the price of admission, don't fool yourselves against that fact just because it's a remake of a PS1 classic. Especially if you loved Oddworld enough that you would actually pay this much for the original, this remake is a strong, compelling reason to justify that.

If you have never played or heard of Oddworld, then you don't need to worry yourself with the possible fear of playing a game from a different generation, as this is the finest in "Mudokon platforming escape and rescue" simulation since the late 90s.

Now remake Exoddus as a sequel, and I would tell you in that review how that would be the video game equivilant of a Chocolate Cake.

Spent 25 hours creating my starting team, then I followed a Tortoise for 25 minutes straight, found a quest to find a Philips CD-i for someone, found a quest to find the Cure for Cancer for someone and found a quest to collect and sell someone literal ♥♥♥♥ and poop. http://youtu.be/bToMtwj43HI?t=5s

I love this game.

Starts with the biggest crutch of high quality starting guns and being rich, ends up being one of the more intricate characters with the most specific skill trees yet.

If you love sniping, the ice element or playing with another person, then at least one of her skill trees will fit like a glove. If you dislike any of those three things, I would advise to avoid her like the plague, but she has the best melee move in the entire franchise.

This game is a very terrible "T-Rex that knows a comet is about to destroy all dinosaurs on the planet but cannot do anything to stop it or save anyone" Simulator.

The good thing is that it isn't trying to actually be a "T-Rex that knows a comet is about to destroy all dinosaurs on the planet but cannot do anything to stop it or save anyone" Simulator, so it's pretty good.

It's like Call of Duty except it's not like Call of Duty.

Literally improves everything from the first game. In fact, you don't even need to play the first game. Screw that game! This one has robots and lots and lots of DLC and haikus and stuff.

General Improvements over the first game include: Weapons are more varied, Manufacturers are distinct, inventory is aesthetically appealing, enemies are entertaining, characters are interesting, there's a climactic ending, and there's actually a plot. A rather large out of nowhere sci-fi epic plot all thanks to that one bearded guy that hates mice.

It really is the best game in the series and one of the more distinct FPS games from and possibly since 2012, except unlike the first game you can't store and replay audio messages heard throughout the game. If this troubles you, there's a spot in the corner over there you can go cry in.. yeah.. just ov-just over th- yeah.. over there... go on..

Also you can play as a Mechromancer. 11/10

You should probably only play this game if you have played Borderlands 2 and enjoyed it.

If you love Borderlands 2, this is a great game to get if you want more of the following:

* Lasers

* Playable Claptrap

* Answers to small questions left by Borderlands 2, such as why Wilhelm pwned the first vault hunters and New Haven and why Athena was nowhere to be seen in Borderlands 2 (as one of the few characters not referenced at all).

* Low gravity combat and Oxygen/Double Jump boost mechanic
(you'd think that would get tiring over the course of a whole game. It dosen't).

* Space Australians

* Snowballs

* Lightsabers

This game is significantly smaller than Borderlands 2, even without the 10 million expansion packs and repeatable UVHM. But B:TPS is still worthwhile for fans of the series. People that have never played a Borderlands game should definatley get Borderlands 2 instead/first.

As for the claim that it's just an overpriced DLC simply for using the same assets/graphics/awesome UI/returning weapons as Borderlands 2, go and put down Saints Row 4 and Fallout: New Vegas for doing the same thing first (and don't let me catch you putting down Fallout: New Vegas!)

Also, no Nicolas Cage cameo this time.. (sorry Red!)

Also also, no Mechromancer class. 0 out of 10, would not play again.

What the original timeless and heartwarming classic, The Binding of Isaac, redefined for roguelike games and random generation replayability (enough to inspire many others to tackle these same qualities of perma-death and randomly generated sexperiences in their sub-par overpriced productions) the Rebirth has lovingly refined.

I do like the simple but effective improvements such as a continue option just in case one needs to quit their game session or suddenly and violently destroy their computer with a baseball bat, so that they may now pick up where they left off much later on.

The larger rooms are also fun. But that's enough about the improved rooms, I've clearly wasted more than enough of all of our time here going on and on and on and on about the improved room sizes, I should learn when to stop waffling on but wont.

As the days go by, it becomes more and more clear, this game delivers what other action packed indies such as Amazing World have failed to provide this year for gamers, and it's not even a 100% original(donotsteal) game, it's a remake (or a rebirthueheuesrgh), done succesfully for a change! Take THAT! Hijinx Studios and Tom Hulett!

So in slimy conclusion, I, a random person on the internet, fully condone spending your possibly questionably earned money on this game, espcially if you enjoyed raging at the first outing of Isaac's dungeon crawling misadventures. And if not, then perhaps wait for the Holiday seasons and buy it for -3 pennies thanks to Lord Gaben! You'd be a quaker oat not toooo00oooOooo~

I also liked the brief cameo from Nicolas Cage.
