What a scam. Functions worse than the free legacy version you can find online.
Don't worry dev's got you - releasing new updates as dlc now in beta version.

Let me completely overhaul my review because Helldivers 2 dissapoints on a whole new level compared to the launch problems. Which were people not being able to equip stuff and then crashing or dc-ing after each mission.
Also those 2 problems have been resolved.

Every day people buy and refund the game because the are not allowed into the servers. They have SONYs dumpster servers and too bad if you want to play at the main times. Because there neither is a queue nor do plans exist to add more server capacity. Read this yourself in their game updates.

The amount of hotfixes and the content which they deliver leads me and many others to believe that this game released in an unfinshed state. You are buying an early access title with little to none game testing.

Also a big downer for me is that matchmaking does not work as soon as you play with friends!

Now when I played solo queue I had a great time (provided it didn't crash).

addition: for 3 days now the matchmaking remains broken so that the game is unplayable, unless you have a group of 4 friends. But beware even then the servers are unstable.

An awesome shmup in a heavy-metal inspired world with loads of different weapons and secrets.
The whole series really brings across the old school game vibes in all the right ways.

So if you played games of this series definitely check this one out. Keep in mind it's a shmup.

If you are new to the series I recommend getting the trilogy on a sale. All 3 games are great!

If you've played Plantera 1 you most likely will enjoy this game.
If you haven't, get both as long as you like games that you boot up every once in a while to chill and make you happy.

Got this when it was on sale after watching the trailers. It insinuates multiplayer but there is none.
Bye Bye

It has potential to be a good a game, however potential is not the same as a finished product.
Especially with the "play 3 days before regular release" this did feel somewhat like a premium early access title.

Devs had to distribute the Survival Pack one account after the other like it's a bottle of Prime Hydration in the UK.
When really it should've been available from the start of Ultimate edition release.
Multiplayer issues are a thing. And they are server-side. Friends and I couldn't play for a day and then suddenly it worked. But just if we connected to one of us. A few hours later it worked fine connecting to everyone.
Oh and also NPCs have dementia. No matter how epic your encounter was or important your quest is they forget 30 min of dialogue and probably accuse you of stealing their cutlery.

Here's table. In your eye! - idk I'm bad at transitions

Good
Bad
- Gameplay
- Class System
- World Setting
- Background Lore
- Customizable Weapons
(like in part 1)
- Performance (low & high)
- No Dev Communication
- Every NPC resets
- Boss fights are all the
same
- Feels Unfinished

TL;DR: Wait for important fixes because it released too early. Try to get a good deal if you want to play now but brace for GPU melting even on high end rigs. Overall not worth the price tag but a good game once it leaves developement.

Not able to complete a single round as of now.
Due to bad enemy programming and numbers.
The intruders hunt you down like a nuclear beacon and 9/10 have as much HP as possible despite the game claiming it being random every time.

Don't worry though there are ways to outsmart the AI and run away into a completely "safe" area only for every single enemy to relocate instantly to vital rooms if they can't reach you.

You probably think I'm venting or just crying about a few bad rounds of gameplay...
The thing is every single round the gameplay was just the same over and over no matter which character I picked, weapons or items I tried or objectives I picked.
Stick to the board game version or Tabletop Sim.

Maybe the dev read the rules of the board game wrong... who knows

Finally a good 40k game again.
Think X-Com gameplay meets the Warhammer 40.000 universe with a pretty hard difficulty on "standard" and short but atmospheric cutscenes.

Buy to feed Astartes to the Chaos Gods!

Too stressful and way too hard to stay alive or even get a grip of anything on "normal" difficulty.
There is no tutorial and dying to hunger / thirst while figuring out I need a spear not an axe to stop the shark from biting the raft apart is not particularly fun.
Refund time.
