Pros: Battle system is super satisfying. Always love kiting enemy fire into each other. Weapon variety is good and all weapons feel useful. Lots of potential with a little room for improvement.

Cons: Game feels very feature light. Battles suffer from lack of variety and requiring way too many to make real progress. 13 hours in and it feels like I've seen all of the content. I'm already repeating maps. The overworld feels pointless and it lacks the tension that games like XCOM have. There are few consequences. I just run away and wait. Might be better on higher difficulties or with an ironman mode (which I haven't tried if it's available, I don't like ironmanning a game blind).

All gear is essentially random for a long time, so it doesn't feel like you have a lot of agency to build the squad you want or to experiment. Unlocking workshop recipes is opaque, so it feels like I just need to play more maybe.

Also, the research tree for your base feels empty. There are only two or three upgrades I want. Everything else feels nice to have.

Every click has a second delay to confirm where you have to hold the mouse button (might be circumvented by right click or a setting check box).

It's almost good. Probably still gonna beat it.

Cons:
Easier XCOM. You get pretty overpowered pretty quickly without having to try very hard. I ran out of game mechanics by the time I beat the game and I had good mastery of the game. It dragged a little at the end. Maps were reused a lot. These gripes might be fixed in the DLCs I don't have.

Pros:
Solid strategy that rewards clever play. Nothing quite as satisfying as summoning a giant robot on a group of enemies and blasting them all with a conical flamethrower. Lots of good positioning decisions. I enjoyed the game enough to beat it. Fans of TBS and 40K will enjoy this game.

Wish I played as the necrons. Infinite Empire supremacy!

Game is unbelievably harsh and also dull.

You aren't allowed to make mistakes. Miss one zombie, you die. However, there isn't really enough to do in the game at any given moment. Often you're waiting for resources to build something or waiting for your units to kill the zombies in an area or whatever. Once you have a safe core base, you just kind of slowly clear the map in between the big waves and then wait... and wait... and wait... Until the final wave. If you didn't prepare correctly, it kills you. So after sinking 4 hrs or whatever into a map, you lose. And guess what? You have to start over. 'Cause it's forced iron man.

I might just be blowing out the difficulty for what I can play at but the scenarios are so long and there is no skip or fast forward, so you wait... and wait... and wait... and wait...

Harsh and dull. Do not recommend.

It's alright. I wanted more ability to maze, otherwise the tower defense just becomes building hard points. and the game ends up feeling like a weaker version of Mindustry. If there was a maybe thumb, I would have checked that.
