It's very hardcore and is best not played alone. If that sounds good for you, this game is a lot of fun. If it doesn't sound good, you will not enjoy this game. People will say a lot about it but it's the long and short of it. There's a level of jank that comes with it, but if you have played hardcore games, you will know what this means.

Early Access Review
I think a lot of us have experienced survival game fatigue these past few years. This game will erase all of that and then some. Playing it evokes nostalgia of those games you played as a kid that were full of mystery and rewarded discovery. The graphics are old-school but with a modern twist and it looks really great.

The gameplay is especially unique because it ushers you into its challenges in a way that are fair and helps you discover things on your own. The hand holding is only enough to help you discover what your own goals should be in the game. You never feel like you aren't sure what you're supposed to do. For someone like me who mostly plays shooters I found myself enjoying even the building aspects of the game. The ruins that you discover in the game give you inspiration for building your own creations.

For $20 you should really give it a go. Coffee Stain has made some awesome games and this is another one of them.

Totally pointless review considering the general consensus already but this is an absolutely fantastic game. Please purchase it.

Over the past few months I've been silently watching it as the devs have been putting in some serious hours to develop some admittedly respectable features. Finally broke down for the latest patch update (Atlas Rises) and bought it for $23.99.

So far I've been really enjoying the game. The flying controls get a little funky, but the planetary landing is impressive tech and the RPG and Crafting elements keep the game interesting. The intrigue of the main storyline has me sticking to playing that mission thus far, though I'm hoping that I'll eventually be reprieved from collecting resources simply to stay alive (I'm playing on Survival) and will be able to work on things like upgrading my ship.

I'm satisfied with the amount of content so far and there is still much that I have yet to figure out. The variation in planet biomes keeps the game interesting, though I've only discovered two systems so far.

While I don't want to comment on the game pre-Atlas Rises, I can attest to the excellent quality of the game I am playing right now. Definitely worth it, and if you were worried about a lack of content, I can assure you it's just not the case here. Solid game, looking forwards to seeing Hello Games make it into the project that they hoped would woo their playerbase. Definite recommend!

For the price you pay its certainly a very unique game. I hope to see them add more content.

The camera can get annoying but the game is dazzling to look at and is pretty entertaining. The singleplayer campaign is fun but difficult.

I've been following this game for awhile now. Let's see where it ends up!

Hopefully once this infamous engine upgrade comes out they'll be able to start adding content quicker

This game is onto something. I've sunk so many hours into the game since its conception in 2010. Great character customizer, fun mission gameplay, it's actually a VERY competitive game. If they took an esports angle to it I anticipate it would have gone places.

Unfortunately due to the small dev team they haven't been able to update it as much as they should.

It's a great game, albeit very arcadey. There have only been a few P2W guns since it's released (initially the Nano, then the C2, couple of others) but I would not argue that it's broken like some people do. The only imbalance I'd say is the fact that some of the best perks are only availble to R195+ (spotter is basically a wallhack if you use it right, though no one ever does). I've gotten max rating on stock guns.

The community is toxic as hell. Tons of wannabe good players-turned-cheaters rerolling on new accounts demand respect after they've been banned. I could name them but they know who they are. Every time I log on I get cries about how I've been banned in the past. Not true, I've never cheated (let alone used a macro) in APB because I'm not a little ♥♥♥♥♥. I've got the CBT tags to prove it.

If ur tryna get ripped, download the game haha =]

Haven't gotten in too much gametime but beat the first game, and to say LoG2 is an improvement would be an understatement. The more open-world style of the game combined with the new and ever-changing outdoor environments breathe new life into the retro style the game capitalizes on.

For the 2 hours I've played so far, I'd say if it's what you're into, go for it. Maybe not worth $20, but nonetheless a great game.

IMPORTANT: For potential buyers, this RPG is NOTHING like Skyrim, Gothic, or any other popular third or first-person RPG's on the market. This game is grid-based (your character moves on an invisible grid), there are MANY puzzles and the combat is not simply point-and-click. It's still a great game, but appeals to a slightly different audience.
