It definitely works!! So I'm waaaay overdue for an upgrade and am still running my old AMD Phenom II X4 965 (3.4GHz). But since I haven't had the cash to upgrade just yet, I saw this on sale and figured it couldn't hurt. I was immediately pleased with the noticeable improvement it made. I intentionally ran it without any actual measure of framerate, as I wanted to just see if I could notice any difference with the naked eye. I jumped into Killing Floor 2 and could immediately see an improvement in framerate. It has made having an outdated processor far more bearable. It's not gonna make things magically smooth in and of itself (I do have a semi-decent graphics card to rely on: Radeon RX 470). But it does provide some noticeable relief and improvement for particularly CPU-intensive games, especially if you happen to be broke/lazy like me and haven't gotten around to doing an overall upgrade.
