Right now? I wouldn't recommend this game. It takes a lot for me to say something like this but honestly I would wait until either after new year when these supposed improvement patches hit or until the game goes on a good sale.

Simply put, there is a lot of technical and graphical issues, the AI of both citizens and combatants alike feel like they've been pulled out of last decade, there is a TON of missing or removed content (dual handguns, mantis blade wall-jumping, anyone?) and compared to previous videos and showcases the UI is both bland yet overly cluttered, especially for scanning.

That being said, I'm still having fun with this game. I plays a lot like Deus Ex, a series which I also very much enjoyed, the guns, lore and world setting are interesting enough to keep me hooked albeit with a slight grimace that comes with paying full price.

I feel this game has pretty much suffered the same curse as DNF. CDPR were overambitious and suffered as a result of the hype they generated back in 2012. That being said they are one of few game developers I would trust to drag their way out of the hot mess they've dug themselves into.

Look at them, they come to this place when they know they are not pure. Guardians use the keys, but they are mere trespassers. Only I, Ghaul, know the true power of the Light. I was cut in half, destroyed, but through it's Traveller, the Light called to me. It brought me here and here I was reborn. We cannot blame these creatures, they are being led by a false prophet, an impostor who knows not the secrets of the Light. Behold the Guardians, come to scavenge and desecrate this sacred realm. My legion, did I not tell of this day? Did I not prophesize this moment? Now, I will stop them. Now I am changed, reborn through the energy of the Traveller. Forever bound to the Light. Let it be known, if the Guardians want true salvation, they will lay down their arms, and wait for the baptism of my Light. It is time. I will teach these trespassers the redemptive power of my Light. They will learn it's simple truth. The Guardians are lost, and they will resist. But I, Ghaul, will cleanse this place of their impurity.

Started off promising, but has quickly devolved into a "BUY OUR MAKESHIFT FREEMIUM CURRENCY TO GET THE COOL ♥♥♥♥ THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN GET ON SINGLEPLAYER."
That's not Grand Theft Auto, it's daylight robbery.

Also note: this game usually increases in price before going on "sale" so they don't lose much profit. And don't even get me started on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over modding support.

In conclusion, play Saints Row instead, at least that lets you be a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and doesn't send you a C&D for it.

Why not spend the better half of two hours drunkenly assembling, disassembling and promptly re-assembling an engine, needing to go into town for sausages & beer and pissing yourself in your loaner van before crashing said van at 80kph?

To quote one Mr. Clarkson: “Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.”

That tree certainly helped me become stationary.

Take a look at my hours and try telling yourself with a straight face that I wouldn't reccomend this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

I now demand to be a Necrodancer at all my tabletop games.

This game has been through a lot in its 4 years of release, some good, some bad. Though after everything is said and done and Payday 2 reaches the end of its content cycle you can't say Overkill don't try and do right by their players.
