If you want to play a different MOW game and not just a DLC repackaged, get this game. Plenty of modes, Multiplayer that works, matchmaking, stable, can even rejoin games. I quickly checked out the singleplayer, has campaign + dynamic conquest + all of it can be played in co-op. The AI is improved. The biggest improvement by far however is the PvP multiplayer.

If you want to stick with oldschool MOW, stay in Assault Squad 2.

If you want to pretend that you're playing a good game, and not a piece of sh!t, get Gates TO Hell.

This is what Aliens Colonial Marines should've been, and I played/modded that game for 720 hours. Took me about 28 hours to beat this on Medium difficulty, lots of replay value.

If you listen to certain NonPayingCustomers from Reddit, Steam Discussions or YT clickbait videos, this is the worst game ever made... Ironic considering this game is about bots.

It's a really good game, few technical issues but nothing that ruins it completely. Unlike AAA games that do not have a soul or brains, while being full of bugs... This is the complete opposite.

204 hours of pure multiplayer. The game is garbage if you're buying for PvP multiplayer.

1) Gamebreaking bugs. I've personally reported so many, the Devs sometimes claimed to fix something but only made it worse. Amazingly it for some reason happens more for the Soviet side, not Germany. Bugs range from AT guns (espeically Zis-2) not being able to shoot when you deploy sandbags, units going somewhere on their own (thanks for "fixing" the F6 arty, devs), cardboard armor bouncing shells 4 times its thickness, rubberbanding, units refusing to move, units refusing to shoot, etc etc etc. You could write an entire Word document about all the bugs. I've even tried to record footage, but guess what? Impossible because it records the wrong screen. Bugs galore.

2) Atrocious balance. Hey devs, you should buff Germany some more. I've never seen so much handholding in any video game. As of recent patch, they've nerfed tank HE accuracy to, and I quote, "help AT guns!!!". But of course they've been really selective in my experience, as for Germans are still snipers no matter what gun or tank. Here's a good example of how awful the balance is, using late settings:

Germany can buy Panther or Tiger 1 for 1300/1350 MP. A Soviet T-34-85 costs 800. Devs actually believe that the former are worth 1 and a half T-34-85, when in reality, it should be 1:3 at least. You could say "buy su-152/is-2!!!", but the Devs made everything in their powers to make "su-152/is-2" nigh useless and basically pure RNG. Very seldom you'll get a a kill with the big guns, sometimes requiring multiple penetrations (not even hits), which is just laughable. And of course they made sure the accuracy is comically inaccurate, which once again, affects the Soviet player in my experience.

The most insulting of course, even if you manage to outplay the braindead players, by outflanking or sniping weakspots, that still doesn't guarantee a kill due to afermentioned bugs and "balance". Many times you get punished for doing exactly that. One side is completely idiot proof. The infantry "balance" is even worse.

3) Zero realism. The infantry especially can survive multiple HE hits (as large as 152mm) and heavy machine guns. You actually see players running at tanks and machine guns (especially with German Terminator infantry), getting hit multiple times, to the point where you have to reload and still survive. It makes Company of Heroes look a hardcore simulator at this point.

As for tanks, they survive penetrations that should've been KO's, or explode from hits that shouldn't be lethal. It's pure RNG.

4) Awful performance and stability. Crashes, lags and low FPS. The latter especially is great because if someone has wooden PC, everyone will have choppy FPS. Tired of waiting someone loading for eternity? Well, there's a "KICK" option for the host, which of course, doesn't even work....

5) Out of 204 hours, guess how much of it was actual gameplay? I'd say half of that, because the game's basically dead, so you spend more time in lobbies, which are also bugged. Maybe that's for the best, as the "gameplay" is downright awful.

I really gave it a try and ran out of patience at this point.

"Serious Sam 4 is going to kill Doom Eternal!!!"

Some nerds actually believed that, but the game is a laughing stock.

- Very unstable. I've crashed multiple times with a bunch of graphical artifacts, including freezing my PC twice and forcing a Disk check. Just for this alone the game scores a 0 out of 10.

- Game looks like ass. We were laughing our heads off at the bad texture pop-ins and crazy shadows. Sam looked like he came out of PS1 Era.

- To say that the animations look dated is not being truthful. Switch to 3rd person, and just look at Sam running animation, Knife swing and these poor man's "finishing moves" that were poorly copied from Doom.

- Gameplay is nothing special. You're put into this massive shoot out for 1 minute at first, which is impressive, and then go straight into the same old SS3/COD gameplay but now with annoying NPC to follow you.

- Day 1 38 gig patch. This is 2k20 vidya games in a nutshell. "Small family owned game dev business!"

- They've put waypoints and HP bars. Icing on a cake is a screen where it offers you to lower the difficulty. I played on Hard and was against 3 Bulls with just 6 shotgun shells while laughing my head off. Imagine my reaction when I've seen that screen?...

Thanks for the Soundtrack, but I have no interest in this buggy game. You want to play a shooter that's not half-assed? Play Doom Eternal. You'll love that chainsaw too after playing Sam 4. Refunded, but gotta restart my PC now. Brb!

Only played few multiplayer games. Verdict: Don't bother with this ♥♥♥♥. Get Men of War instead, much better game.

You have Germans driving on IS-2s and KV-2s, and you have French with Americans flying and driving around with Soviets. "Operation Bagration" Steel Division II Edition.
Extremely crude and incoherent unit controls.
No tutorial of any kind. Visual feedback is zero other than the basic "your unit is under attack/dead!". You have 4 types of markers you can put on a map, half of time you hear the sound from your ally marker but don't see anything on your minimap.
Camera glitches out when you pan or zoom and just focuses on a random point in the map.
Half of time you have no idea what's going on, just bunch of explosions.
Tanks get their visibility "blocked" by nothing, and yet shoot through massive buildings like they're not even there.
You damage gunner sights by shooting tracks, and then the same damaged tank does a 360 noscope oneshot on you.
Germany is uber easy mode. Game is all about spamming Tigers with Panthers which drive around in reverse faster than a T-34 does in forward. Which then boils down to spamming nuclear arty.

In short, a crappy arcade game with terrible graphics, controls and sound. I wish I received this "for free".

this game blows compared to civ5
-awful music, same peace/country theme tunes over and over again even if at war, causes down's syndrome so has to be muted
-terrible ui and graphic design
-no sound queues on turn start, or wonders built
-god awful cartoony animations (have a builder fix something it looks like ♥♥♥♥)
-cartoon effects especially in battles (instant quick move/quick combat enabled)
-game rendered cutscenes look like ♥♥♥♥ unlike civ5 art
-graphic fidelity is a straight downgrade even on max settings
-builders for 3 turns
-ui is a mess, doesn't tell when borders expand, not intuitive with resources/happiness like in civ5, terrible icons that are easy to forget
-unlimited resources, 1 horse or 1 powder is enough for entire army
-and yet units like infantry now require unique resources
-i ♥♥♥♥ out production, science and faith to the max and it still feels way too slow on standard speed
-wide empires seem to be handicapped with all these rules like amnesties and housing
-the ai is still atrocious, sends elephants and other medieval garbage against well fortified camps and cities with artillery in it, no tactics, king difficulty
-wonders are more or less useless
-cannot disable spies, city-states, map feel very cramped
-constant spam with trade routes
-constant spam with spies looking for work (3 turns??)
-multiplayer broken
-doesn't have a soul
-doesn't have a brain
etc etc etc

a £49.99 game
