Love RTS games, loved 40k.

Got this game for nearly free in the humble bundle and wish I could refund it. Not worth the time to play it even if it's free.

Absolutely excellent city state builder/simulator. Graphics are simple but detailed enough to understand what's going on and you can have every inch of the map covered in activity without seeing the slightest slowing of the game. Most builder games when you have built a sustainable city you've essentially beaten it. In this game it opens up into a whole new phase where you conquer your neighbors and transform your city once again into running off tribute/taxes and dropping raw resource production in favor of more manufactured goods and higher population density.

Excellent game, tons of branching storyline options, incredible amount of possible ways to complete most challenges presented in the game. If Mass Effect 3 had half the detail this game does I'd still buy EA games. Larian studios has a great record for supporting there games long after release and I look forward to replaying this game many more times to come over the years.

Worth it if on sale and you enjoy the base game. They took some real shortcuts with this, ruins gatherers show help text about trees. Polymer gatherers are collecting from the water but shut down if air pollution is too low because they only bothered to make air filters for this mode, same with water based farms. A lot of this type of errors if you look closely. Much of the tech tree is useless as only one prototype available. Overall it was a nice reason to revisit the game, but if I'd spent more than $3 I'd be annoyed at the lack of polish.

The best game

Bought it because I have always loved the Civ series. Really tried to give this one a chance but it just sucks. Very unbalanced, unplayable multiplayer, just all around worse then Civ 5 or even 4. District system is an interesting change but everything else was a step backwards.

Replaying with the Sith Lord Restored Content Mod, really makes this good game into something great.
