It works on Linux, if your having problems with the game just uninstall and remove the map in the steam folder then re download the game and you should be ready to go. Sometimes the files get corrupted, happens on windows too.

Now over to the game, i have spent around 300 hours in this game and to be honest i forced my self a lot because im a huge ALIENS and ALIEN fan. I have done everything in this game including all achievements.

Is this game better then SEGA's ALIENS colonial marines yes!, but so is Tetris.

Now can i recommend this game to anyone , yes and no. If you want to just play trough it once to know the story , yeah sure why not. But more then that i cant recommend, it gets very stale after a while. But if you are going to get it get it on a sale.

The class design is very hit and miss.
Some classes are fun, but some if your like me you will just level up then never touch them again because they are so boring.

They have also made allot of iconic weapons from Aliens absolute trash after you reach the difficulties above intense. The pulse rifle and smart gun are one of the most iconic weapons.
And they become really bad on extreme and insane. Also forget about the flamethrowers you will most likely accidentally wipe your entire team because of friendly fire. Smart design in a tight corridor shooter, not!

Now over to some other game problems, there is no in game chat and no voice chat so the only way to communicate is to either make a group with your friends over at discord or any other voice chat app or join there discord channel to make a team.

Now wen we are talking about communication the devs communication with the community is abysmal there can go months even longer with out them announcing anything.

And that in it self is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy heck they haven't even putt mouth animation on there characters that gives you mission briefings.

Now one more thing i would like to point out is that the 3rd person view dosent fit this type of game, FPS is the way to go. Nothing is scary because your so disconnected to whats going on, i got a facehugger at me lets play guitar heroe. Come on.

Trust me wen i say i really wanted to love this game i really really did.

But to be honest im still waiting for a good ALIENS game and it needs to be FPS game in your face scary and also fun as hell something i think would work for this type franchise would be something like a FIRST PERSON SURVIVAL SHOOTER like escape from tarkov, but instead of shooting Russians you would go to different planets or bases , space stations to do different mission and kill Xenomorphs etc.

And if anyone reads this that are planing on making an aliens game ( highly doubt it ) please respect the aliens movie and do weapons and classes from that movie good , we want to feel like we are in the combat boots of Hicks , Hudson , Drake or Vasquez, now does that mean that we need to make a game that is direct rip off of the movie no but we don't need to reinvent the wheel either.

Fun game I just dont give two ♥♥♥♥♥ about the story so sadly got bored, if you like dark souls you will like this. Only downside game wise is that the menue feels a bit clunky in my opinion.

Side note if you play with a controller i think the menue will feel a bit better.
