Somehow this game was even better the second time through. The story has typical Kojima drawbacks and writing issues, but I have never been so infatuated with another game's atmosphere and feel before. The connection Sam has to the ground, gravity, and his own exhaustion has ruin many other game's movement systems for me. The core delivery loop gameplay mixed with the increasing challenge and give/take of the story makes this a journey from start to finish.

There are not-so-great parts too. The bits where it turns to a third person shoot weren't the best, and some of the later boss fights leave something to be desired. The 100% end-game grind won't be for everyone either, but I am happy with dipping in and out of it now, slowly picking away at what I have left when I want to relaxed and play something *different* for a while.

I'm very glad that Kojima took a step in this direction. No game is ever perfect, but in an age where cookie-cutter is easy and will make you money, this was just what I needed to revitalize my love for the medium.

Among Us but the ghosts are what kill you

Seriously though, the atmosphere in this game was nailed. It doesn't look pretty everywhere, but it doesn't have to because you are too focused on trying to not soil yourself. Excellent party/social game, hope this keeps receiving content!

Just a good VR game. Right into the action, easy to pick up, difficult to master, juicy combos and kill, and a nice workout on top of everything else!

This is everything that VR can be. Visually unmatched, the scale is beyond anything I've experienced in other VR games, audio is top tier, and that story/writing is great from start to finish. The gunplay is good, just a bit limited when it comes to variety. Alyx leans more towards survival horror instead of action so don't expect to be an amazin action hero.

The game still has its quirks. Valve is very reluctant to allow for fast movement (no true sprint for continuous) which can leave you with a bad taste in some moments that you feel like you should be rushing to get somewhere, but instead you just shuffle along casually. The grav gloves can be picky and you won't always get the item you want, and the orange that you are teleported into when you head accidentally goes into a wall is not only very bright, it can be downright terrifying if you aren't expecting it to happen.

Even with it's flaws, this is still the best VR game we have had to this point, and will most likely remain so for years to come. We can only hope that other developers are willing to dive in head first and build more ground-up titles for VR like this.

If you get the chance, play this. No video will do it justice compared to in a headset.

A great game. There was a lot of experimentation done here that I think we will see echoed in VR games for many years to come. It is by no means perfect, but I am excited to see what the future holds for this game, or for the ones that come after from SLZ.

The fully present avatar and it's ability to interact with everything in the game world make this feel like the most grounded VR experience yet. Shoving yourself into doors to open them, using your crowbar to lift yourself over a ledge. That is where the game truly shines. The climbing is a lot of fun, and the melee system is very satisfying.

Some of the downsides are the later levels of the story mode which lose steam after the first half. The shooting is okay, but I am spoiled by H3VR so I might not be the best opinion to rely on there. I wish that the sandbox mode had more things to do, as my favorite parts of the game involved platforming and climbing.

Definitely worth the purchase though. If you are new to VR, I wouldn't jump right in to this one though. It is very intense and relies on smooth locomotion which might have you hunched over.

Backspace re-centers your headset!

Now, the game itself has so much to love. Even if you aren't a fan of Roiland, the quality of everything else still shines very bright. There are genuinely funny moments, decisions that make you want to play through again, and a combat system that starts off weak, but really opens up after you get some upgrades. The combat is still simple, but it is enjoyable without feeling pointless.

I can't wait to finish it and play it again with the shot at the end of each level!

Delivers a polished fishing experience. The casting, rowing, and reeling are fun. Some of the interaction points could be a bit more forgiving, but otherwise I can see myself just chilling out and playing this for a few hours if I want to relax!

Exactly what I am looking for in a non-vehicle based WWII shooter. It isn't perfect, but it scratches the itch very well.

Very torn at the moment. 1080TI (SLI but I am imagining it doesn't get taken advantage of) with an OC'd 6800k. The performance was all over the place. Getting odd frame drops and white edges when turning my head too quickly. Scale doesn't seem quite right. Bit too tiny when normal, and people just look shrunk down when you are in power armor. The scopes don't work at all, they actually are just an aiming obstruction, so don't think you'll be playing any kind of sniper.

The stuff that does work feels good though. Melee is good enough, the 10mm is fun to shoot, VATS is cool when it works. Dogmeat was my buddy INSTANTLY. And I enjoy that you can actually pick up and hold objects, instead of just grabbing them directly to your inventory. The more stuff that I can interact with, the more VR points you get.

Thumbs up for now. Will be diving back in tomorrow with some adjusted settings to try and improve performance, will adjust score if necessary.

If you dig tower defense, this is a pretty solid start! For only $10, the current content and response time of the devs (I had an issue that was fixed within 4 minutes) is pretty damn good. The newer levels they added are actually quite the challenge. I hope to see more towers in the future, but the current ones and the branching upgrade paths for them are pretty nice.

It isn't perfect, some of the earlier levels are pretty easy to breeze through, and the menus for upgrading can be picky at times as well. Would also like to see some more freedom when it comes to throwing the towers. Right now, they just kind of fall out of your hand when you let them go. I want to be able to at least lob them a bit!
