It is hard to recommend a game with such a bumpy release, these days. So many games pretend to be cars when their beta is merely a go-kart, via the early access system. Many games never become more than a go-kart.

That being said, this go-kart rides relatively smoothly and reminds one of Battlefield 4, with many of its maps and other older game's maps, to boot, with maybe about one-half of the content in terms of guns and vehicle upgrades. Given the updates since its release, it is a very nice go-kart for $12. Buy it for a weekend or two of battlefield nostalgia, and let the developers know that this still isn't enough for a battlefield title via a review.

Top notch level design makes portal fun, and this mod has unique, beautiful levels in droves, but sadly it lacks the funding for the writing and voice acting that made the first two games entertaining stories on top of being fun. Worth a play, regardless, for any portal fans looking for something that scratches that particular itch.

It's much better than the alpha release. Many QOL changes and new content. If you haven't played since alpha, you may be pleasantly surprised. "hard" difficulty enemies are currently extremely stressful even with a group of 3 to 5. It creates a great challenge, but building up a homestead is much more work intensive.
That being said, Kevin helps a lot. Building a base isn't as time consuming as before, but building a HOME will take a lot of time, and as seasons now exist, you cannot build over water and expect to live all year.
The lakes will freeze. Currently working through the storyline, but will revise review as gameplay goes on.

Bought during the $15 discount period. Absolutely worth $15 if you enjoy mini-golf or golf related games. Custom golf course creator is fairly robust. Campaign is challenging especially on higher difficulties. Enjoyed played with my friends.

Creator has dubious political views but bowling is pretty sick.

Modders/hackers make the game largely unplayable. There is little to no moderation of the playerbase on Rockstar's part when it comes to this. Reports and bans that do make it through... are meaningless... because a free copy of the game is trivial to procure, and a new Rockstar account is free. Modders are also capable of changing their in-game name to YOUR in-game name, which makes it possible for them to impersonate you and say extremely offensive words in chat, which risks you getting reported in the hacker's stead.

While it can be fun at times, thinking about playing this game is often more enjoyable than actually playing it.

Buyer beware.

Phasmophobia has, for the time I have owned the game, demonstrated a fantastic work ethic and sense of direction on the part of the development team. The amount of content (new ghosts, maps, and items) and QOL improvements that have been added since purchasing indicates that their team has gotten serious about taking this game to its full potential.

I have one bottom line for my review: If you are a fan of horror games, co-op horror or the paranormal, this game is for you, and it is well worth the price.
