Bought the game a couple years ago and it's a fun and atmospheric game. Music is great, artwork is great, and breakthroughs aren't too long. Don't know why flood of negative reviews, but I definitely got my money's worth.

Warhammer 3 is the last game I will ever pre-order. The game came out in a buggy, terrible mess that was boring on all fronts. The community hoped that over time the game would eventually get to at least the standard of the second game but there are still problems that even the modding community cannot fix. The insult to the injury is the absurd pricing for the DLC that should have just been in the game to begin with.

Total War: Warhammer 2 has the most hours on my steam account. This is the game made me disinterested in the Total War franchise.

This is the first game that actually lived up to the hype around it.

Overall the game is great, and I highly recommend about 2/3 of this game. The last third is right up your alley if you like LOTS AND LOTS OF FPS platforming. Don't get me wrong, the third act was gorgeous, but it was tedious as hell and the levels felt over long. The build up to the last boss feels like it will never end, and by the end i just wanted to finish the damn thing. But again, that's my perspective. The actual Black Mesa facility was a ton of fun and really brought back memories of playing HL1 back in the day.

This game is amazing and offers a lot of replayability because of how different each factions plays. There's a ton of mod support, the game is still being updated, the community is great, and I'm really looking forward to the third installment...

BUT

Wait for a sale. There's so much content in this game you'll break the bank paying full price. Your patience will be rewarded, however.

I bought this game in early access and it was okay. Entertaining for a little bit but the game is aimed at a specific gaming population. Gotta be okay with starting new maps in survival mode and make as big a city as you can and survive as well as you can. It was okay for me but once you do it once you have to be okay with repeating it for added fun. I was hoping that the story mode that was promised would bring me back but it was incredibly disappointing. The story is pretty much nonexistent, the levels are basically repeating the survival missions but without access to the things that make survival missions playable (the tech tree needs a lot of work too, considering that unlike an RTS like starcraft 2 where the tech tree improves your base units, the tech tree unlocks the base buildings and units that should be available regardless). Some people may like it, but a story mode that's just a series of increasingly difficult survival missions just wasn't for me.

You could actually learn how to play basketball decently in the time that it would take to develop your myplayer without microtransactions.

Early Access Review
Pick the game up on sale and you will definitely get your money's worth. The atmosphere and exploration is worth the $10. Story mode remains a pipe dream after owning this game for a while, but every once in a while it's nice to explore a beautiful yet desolate wasteland. The game can only get better, as most early access games are, so consider it an investment for a game that is likely to pan out quite well. For now though, because it's only a sandbox essentially, it is only worth buying on sale.
