The mtx are dumb just like in DMC5 and RE - it is what it is don't buy them you can get them all easily in-game.
The performance is rough in the city but perfectly fine outside (where you should be spending most of your time), not great but hopefully gets fixed.

But the game itself - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is what I've waited for since DDON got it's servers turned off.
It is DD1 but better in pretty much every way. It has me hook, line and sinker it is so bloody good.
If you are a DD1 fan and not hyper-triggered by dumb capcom things, you have to get this.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is finally here.

Note: Up to the endgame on PS5 - including PC bout 15 hrs total I reckon.
Also protip, do not engage in discussions on this game because it is spoilers galore with salty internet dwellers. Nothing wrong with pointing out flaws, definitely something wrong with spoiling everything because you don't like something.

The game is good, it's not revolutionary but it is just all around solid.
As a Suicide Squad fan, I expected nothing from this game and I have been very pleasantly surprised.

Gameplay is way more fun than I expected once you get the hang of the traversal heavy combat
Story has been pretty dope though I'm a sucker for an anti-hero story
Characters are terrific representations of the 4, and the humour is (obviously subjectively) hilarious
The loot system is very unobtrusive and, honestly, pretty easy to use (unlike say Ubisoft inserting that ♥♥♥♥ into AC/Ghost Recon where it is absolutely horrible)

Now onto the fun stuff -
The MTX is about as unobtrusive as I've seen MTX, other than them not being added at all. I have not had a single advertisement pop up on screen (again, looking at you Ubisoft) and you wouldn't know it existed if you didn't look at the store page. It is also only cosmetic, which I always prefer.
The live service shenanigans are... meh, as expected, but again unobtrusive. Obviously the reason for including this sorta thing is the massive potential for ongoing profits, can't blame a business for wanting to make money when people continue to spend big on it. Only issue I've had is the occasional leaderboard popup on screen even though I've disabled them in options, I assume a minor bug that will be patched.

tl;dr - hugely pleasant surprise for me, very happy with what we've got and keen to see what they do with future content.

Story: 8/10 (biased here ofc)
Characters: 10/10
Gameplay: 7/10 to start but when you get the hang it's 8 or 9/10 for me, lot of fun.
Music: 6/10 only sorta disappointing part really, when it hits hard it's good but during combat you barely notice it

Overall: 8/10

It is so very close to being great, but the two things that just destroy it for me are:
1. AI Input reading is far too aggressive, nothing feels like skill it just feels like luck
2. The shove mechanic is borked and not fun at all - a straight removal of it would be good imo

I say not recommend but I guess it's not expensive so it can't hurt to give it a shot - I'd give it a "meh" rating if I could, but gun to the head yes or no I'm gonna go no because of the 2 fundamental issues I listed above.

Short and sweet, doesn't overstRay it's welcome.

Gorgeous world building, great soundtrack, unique gameplay and a terrific self-contained sci-fi story that gives you just enough information to let your imagination run wild with theories.

Plus you play as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cat and can press a button to meow praise be to the sweet baby jesus this is the best timeline

This is one of those rare games you can just slap into the "Games are art" debate with no explanation to basically prove that they at least CAN be art.

It's like an action-adventure game with the good parts of Telltale games thrown in. Very story heavy, very dialogue heavy, very banter heavy. As others have said, if you loved the Gunn movies you'll love this.
Take your time with it, you can accidentally skip banter by rushing ahead, so settle in and enjoy.

Good game, they just need to disable that forced tutorial rubbish, aside from that it's timey-wimey Dishonored, but more combat-focused (stealth still an option but combat equally as good now)

It's more Half-Life.
After all these long years it's more Half-Life, and it's really REALLY good.

Even playing with Vive Wands (thanks to being Australian), HL:A plays like an absolute dream. All actions are so easy to burn into your muscle memory that everything from using the gloves to reloading your weapon to hacking stuff with the multi-tool feels natural and great. The visuals are amazing, the game runs beautifully and has a ton of options that you don't usually see in VR games yet. It really is a step forward for VR Gaming.

If you have VR, buy this. If you can afford a VR kit and love Half-Life, buy it for this (also games like Blade & Sorcery, Boneworks etc.). If you can't afford VR (very reasonable), watch a good quality playthrough on Youtube with no commentary, or play it at a mate's house.... after COVID of course.

God I hope this means we're gonna start getting Half-Life games. If so, this is the greatest timeline.

By the way, make sure you stay after the credits.

Whilst DBZ Kakarot does shorten the story and even omit some things in an odd way, such as the "over 9000" scene, it is still the most graphically gorgeous, engaging and thorough retelling of the DBZ Series in video-game format.

For me, as I watched only bits and pieces through my childhood and only knew the broad stories of each saga, this helped fill the gaps in my head whilst still filling me with intense nostalgia.

The gameplay is significantly more JRPG-style and focused than the other DBZ games like Budokai and Xenoverse, the combat a bit simpler but much MUCH better visually. As other reviews have said, the sidequests are pretty repetitive and 'fetch-questy' but the main storyline will easily have you hooked and the way it's all presented makes you feel like you're legitimately playing the anime.

This is a very good game with a few weird design choices, but if you're a fan of DBZ and want to re-visit the story and see it animated in UE4 to look absolutely phenomenal at times (pretty much all the major shounen power-up sections) then definitely get this and give it a bit of time to get the hang of the systems they are presenting you with.

Brilliant deckbuilder, one run easily turns into just one more until you realise you've been playing for 6+ hours.
