I just realized, bordering on too late, that I had never reviewed Duck Game.

This game is, unequivocally, the best couch competitive game I've ever played in my life. It's easy and fast enough for friends who aren't really great at gaming to continue playing even if they're getting destroyed by more skilled players, it's varied, it's so wildly "pick-up-and-play", you can hook it up and play a few rounds with barely any setup.

It's the only game that we love enough to have set up on a projector outside to play around a fire on some summer nights. We played it over the internet during covid, and countless hours between.

Now for the editorial part. WB Discovery is reportedly pulling this game among many others as part of their ever-increasing desire to make wonderful things disappear to see the line go up. It's unconscionable. Give the dev full rights to their game. It's too wonderful to make disappear.

Early Access Review
Look, I buy Early Access games with the assumption that it's rough and incomplete now, and it'll be improved over time in the future. Considering KSP2 is more complete NOW than KSP1 was when I joined early access years ago - I'll take it.

The team has already demonstrated with the first iteration that they're devoted to making a great game, and even though what we have now is rough around the edges, the framework is there and I'm sure it'll be something great.

With that in mind, I'm rating this a "thumbs up" not because it's a great game now - in fact, I'd recommend if you're unfamiliar with the franchise that you start with KSP1 as it is, and buy this later when it's more complete if you end up liking it.

That said, as a method to invest in the future development of KSP2 and to have the ability to test and shape the way that the game develops, I'd absolutely recommend picking KSP2 up if you go in entirely aware that it's going to take a while to be a complete game.

Obviously, the review is warrant to change depending on how development goes, but I'm pretty confident considering what happened with the first.

All of that said, not a huge fan of the launcher. It's having growing/connection pains right now and I'd rather deal with Steam explicitly if I buy something on Steam.

They've done it again. I'm not going to do a whole rundown of all of the games because I'm sure someone else has done a better job of it than I could, but the Jackbox team has done it again. A new gem to add to the list of Party Packs I'll break out when I'm hanging out with family and friends. Friend favorites are Job Job and Weapons Drawn, but we're huge fans of pretty much every game in this pack.

Pistol Whip is seriously on the top of my "must have" VR list. It's a better workout than made-for workout games. It's massive amounts of fun, and the devs keep adding campaigns, play styles, and other stuff that make it just an absolutely phenomenal deal.

While it's a bit less "beat oriented" than other rhythm games, rhythm certainly plays a part - gunfire accentuates beats as you play through various scenes inspired by famous film shootouts.

Gameplay is flawless - everything is so streamlined whether you want to hop in and play a single map, or if you're playing through an entire campaign.

Only thing missing is custom songs, but I honestly don't even miss it considering everything else. Just outrageously good.

To give you an idea of how highly I regard this game, I'd consider it part of my VR trifecta - HL: Alyx, Beat Saber, and Pistol Whip. It's that good.

Fun, short game. I was going to say kind of offensive to spiderbros, considering their penchant for snacking on TRULY annoying bugs, but there's a glimmer of redemption at some point.

Took about 4 hours in total to beat to nearly full completion, and the game introduced mechanics, upgrades, and new weapons, which kept levels fresh.

Not to be one of "those guys", but I could see this being really, really fun in VR. Still, great on the flat screen and totally worth a play.

Great tool, hugely functional, and now polished and even more functional through recent updates. I'm not sure when it dropped, exactly, but one of the recent updates made this super functional and quite streamlined - honestly probably better than something I'd expect from Valve themselves.

I use it pretty much every time I use VR - if I'm playing something more "immersive", I may not have any windows up, but the little status screen with time and controller battery found on the opposite side of my controller is phenomenally useful. I don't have to get into the menu or futz about with anything to get my current status. It's really great.

It's already so, so good and absolutely worth the price of admission, but I can't wait to see where the dev takes it. Really wonderful program.

Very short story game, beautifully animated, beautiful music, simple, but poignant story. The puzzle mechanic didn't overstay its welcome, which was appreciated.

A playthrough was a bit under an hour and a half taking time to look at all of the scenery and click on things.

One of the best platformers I've played in ages. Shades of Psychonauts, Super Mario Galaxy, Banjo Kazooie, and more. All from a developer who, before this, I hadn't heard of.

Cute character designs, fun world designs, and shifting game mechanics made the game a high-spirited pleasure to play through. It felt just long enough, and now I'm just hoping for a sequel.

Short, but hilarious and fun, QWOP-like story. Picked it up in a bundle cheap, but it's easily worth a few bucks, at least.

First (and only, for me) playthrough was a bit under 2 hours. Has a "speedrun" mode for speedrunners and Co-Op, although I haven't gotten around to trying it.

Controller is marked as optional, but I really can't imagine how someone could play it without one, so definitely keep that in mind.

I'd absolutely suggest checking it out, if it's at a price point that would justify the short-ish playtime to you.

Really cool, 80's geared, horror experience driven by a unique blend of modern graphics and text-based adventure styles.

I'm not going to go too in-depth about the game, but if you're at all a fan of narrative-driven games or text-based adventure, it's totally worth checking out.
